Given that it never required a subscription fee, I don't anticipate much of a change. New players is always good, and while people like to **** about the hats and other guns they are not fundamentally better or worse than the basic weapons and skill is what matters. And as long as you can keep unlocking the weapons just through playing, it's all fair to me.
:(. Just found our. The Summer Sales better be really f***ing good. I feel sad about this. Sure its a good game but did it really have to go this route? Hats and weapons costing money...so sad. Mod support is staying right? Hows that going to fit in really? Sigh. I like that Im a premium member but all we get is the same as before and a...hat. :(
Honestly, I'm glad. I hope this gets more people into the game. Im getting sick of hunting between servers trying to find one not filled with bots. IxX3xil3d0n3XxI
I have never had that problem. There are always plenty of servers filled with people.

The more Team Fortress to go around, the better! It'll be fresh to see new faces playing the game, and should give extra legs to the 2007 game.-CheeseEater-

Yeah, but hats are purely cosmetic. And the weapons you can unlock through gameplay. It's not like you HAVE to have the weapons. I do pretty well with vanilla spy, scout, medic, sniper, and soldier.
I guess waiting pays off in the end??? Haha, I bought this game when it was first released in The Orange Box :D

Yeah. But you got to play it 4 years before all the people who got it now.
As for me I am really happy TF2 is free. I always wanted the game, but I had my reason why I couldn't buy it. But now it's free and people still play it a lot so it's still worth playing. It's not like Valve was giving away a dead game. Steam's friendly service and amazing deals is all the more reason why I love the service and Valve.
