Team Fortress 2 "Free" for the Weekend on Steam

TF2 is now free for the weekend. I'm fairly certain that this means you won't have access to the game after Sunday night, but if you've been stalling to try out the game, now is an excellent time, especially considering that there are new achievements and weapons for the Medic class plus the map Goldrush. Thoughts?

my folder for it says 4 gigs, but that's with a bunch of crap I downloaded as well.

ex: my maps folder is two gigs in size alone.

Only releasing 1 set of new weapons was a compeltely retarded move on Valve's behalf.

I mean what the hell, theres now usually 3-4 medics on every team, its just completely messed up, because of a bunch of achivement whores, I bet 90% of them dont even like playing the medic class.

Trust me, it's worth the download. It's mostly just the new maps and updates that make the game file so large. This is, in my opinion, the best team based shooter of the past year.

But supposing that I manage to download it, would I be able to play :P because in the few times I played MP I got a ping of 250ms, good or bad?

Seriously though how do I leave a gamein TF2. The only options i get are to connect to another server. Wheres the disconnect button, the quit button, anything! Everytime I wanna get off I have to resort to crtl alt delete.lenson

Here's a few words of advice to anyone who's trying out the game:

First off, you are not getting an accurate idea of what gameplay is normally like. I just finished playing, and I can assure you that right now all the servers are flooded with medics and beginners (noobs) who just downloaded the game. If you don't find the game fun, give it a second chance. It takes a while to get comfortable with all of the classes. Plus, sometimes you'll just end up with a group of bad players. Here's a huge tip: set the server filter so that you only can see servers with a ping of 100 or less and then arrange the servers in order of ping, from lowest to highest. I do this all the time and get virtually no lag.

I must be the oddball, since my best servers have been at ~120 ping and I've been extroardinary laggy (at first, at least) in the 30-40 ping range.

and what would make you think I was planning of getting the xvox version (if I get it at all)? Now that I have a decent gaming rig I'll never need to buy another shooter for my X360 again.

Well, if I'm lagging at least I don' t notice it. Even when I'm around a ping of 50, everything feels really smooth for me.
