I busted my ass off to buy this along with paying for university. Could this laptop play any game out there? I really want to get into Age of Conan and play Crysis.
Thanks in advance

Well, generally, laptops are never a good choice for gaming, as desktops are usually more powerful for less money. And laptops cant really be upgraded as easily as desktops. But it is a nice rig, you will probably be running most games out already on Medium High and Crysis will most likely be Medium if you want very good performance. But I would look into oveclocking that Graphics Card. I overclocked my 8800gt standard and am getting 50 frames in Crysis, all high, and....... 16xQ Anti-Aliasing 720p!! If you look around, there are great overclocking info sites and it is a way of turning a good rig into a great rig.

This is true, laptops aren't the best choice for gaming at all. You'd be able to run most games, but there will be few graphics intensive games that you'll be able to crank up. Gaming laptops are overpriced, have terrible battery life, and are usually gigantic and hot. Desktop gaming PCs get much better performance, especially for the price. It's not bad for a laptop by any means, however.
Before (or if) you overclock, though, make sure to check your graphics card temperatures with something along the line of HWmonitor. If your temperatures are low enough, overclocking will definitely improve performance.

Would you mind telling me your settings for your 8800GT (core, shader, memory clock, plus fan speed?)? I'm finding it hard to find a stable overclock for mine, cheers! Btw I'm using EVGA precision.
To TC - that's a really nice laptop for sure - how much is it costing and where are you buying from?
As other people have said laptops can't really be as bleeding-edge as desktops are for gaming, but if you're trying to strike a chord between gaming and portability for uni, I'd say you've hit it. One question though - 1680 res on at 15 inch screen? Perhaps save yourself some money and gain some extra performance with a lower res, or make the most of that res with a larger screen?
Also, this mod should give you a boost in Crysis:

(too lazy to link XD )
Sure thing. I use EVGA precision too very reliable. Here are my settings (I could go higher, but these are the highest ive tested stable so far) .....
Core-745
Shader- 1830
Memory- 955
Fan- 75-80% range depending on the game
Temps never go above 65 even after 6 hours of Crysis:twisted:. Keep in mind though, that my case is an Antec 900 and all my fans are on high, so its pretty much a freezer. Your temps may be higher depending on your case.:D

i highly doubt ur getting 50fps onhigh with 16xaa in crysis maybe more like 5 fps
Ok.......
1)My card is overclocked, a lot, so yeah(stock 8800 core is 600) 8)
2)I play at 720p, my monitors native resolution.
Thank You For Listening Doubter:D
Also, have you ever played Crysis? Before I played it, I was scared that it wouldnt even run at all. And now its running excellent

Wow that's pretty high! Well I have a CM690, with 6 full case fans (so it's quite loud) - because the P5N-D has a hot northbridge (like 50 degrees just on idle, but the rest of the case is quite cool). I kept getting "graphics driver failed but has recovered" messages when I started overclocking my 8800GT, but I think its more down to the hot Northbridge than the cards gettings hot (they stay at about 60 on load at 75%) because the Northbridge controlls the SLI too. Hmm...
Crysis runs lovely with the mod I posted above at high settings, with 2x AA at 1680 so I guess I'm just being greedy, lol. Cheers for that info though!
