I'm thinking of trying the MMO TERA for PC. How is it with a Xbox One controller? The only MMO I'm playing ( with the same controller ) is Final Fantasy XIV! Can't wait StormBlood! Woot! I keep seeing. Its a action-MMO? So. Its like Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden?

I've never tried using a controller for more than a few minutes. It puts you at a huge disadvantage since you can't rotate the camera fast enough and also, most classes have a lot of keybindings.

While you can make chains and limit how many keybindings you actually have to press, this really nerfs your potential skill and effectiveness, and the fact that you need to be able to instantly move the camera around alot to position your attacks for back crits makes a controller really limit your skill level.

I've known people who will grind easy stuff with controllers but for anything challenging and want to be good don't use a controller. Classes like reapers where you can spacebar chain almost all skills may work alright on controller but you still have that sluggish camera control problem you just can't compete with fast mouse. Slayer is another one that is very playable using chains but requires very accurate aiming where the controller would fail badly at... and archer requires even more precise aiming, can't image playing that on a controller. Don't even bother pvping with a controller you will be destroyed instantly, the pvp is unbalanced enough as it is.

So just to sum it up, controller is possible and playable for probably most classes, just will limit your skill level greatly.

the game is free, i dont want to deter you from some fun you may have... if u have fast internet to try it out and 50 gb to spare to download its worth a try just keep in mind it takes some extra skill to use a controller effectively.

Why can't you use a KB/Mouse?

That's fair enough but don't stop yourself from playing great games just because you like a controller ;-)
