agreed with the above.
TDU is seriously one of the best car games i've ever played in terms of fun, lengthy playability and just general driving and racing atmosphere.
NFS Pro Street is an awesome game too IMO, i know everyone will disgaree with me. but yeah its not very deep or anything. if you're into doing up cars, tuning them here and there and sticking to closed circuit racing and drags etc, then NFS for you. pure racing only, doesnt offer much more. the cars feel really good though IMO. not as 'arcadey' as previous NFS titles.
BUT, if you prefer a massive, free roaming open driving area with alarge range of cars AND motorbikes, as well as much more features on offer (ability to buyhouses to storemore vehicles, a useful reward/unlock system etc)then TDU it is. the driving area in Test Drive is HUGE. i still havnt discovered 100% of the road. i think its meant to represent the entire island of Oahu, correct? plus nothing in all my playing has compared to the awesome free feeling of blasting the Millionaire Run on my fully upgraded ZX-10. the time limit on that race is 60 minutes, since it goes around the entire edge of the island. lol my best time is 52 mins. :S i know. i kept stacking it.
to sum up:
Pure racing/car tuning and modding/short and sweet- NFS Pro Street
Large variety of cars/wide open roads/long driving missions - Test Drive Unlimited.
EDIT: oh woop. haha yes, you will run the game smooth as silk@ max settings with 4xAA. make sure you download the latest patch if you get it though. fixes a lot of bugs, adds the R34 Skyline and another car.
WOW one race goes for THAT long? Thats insane! I havn't played TDU but im curious now.Rattlesnake_8
yeah its called the Millionaire Run coz, well yeah you get $1,000,000 for winning. and 60 minutes sounds like enough time right? lol it is but its not easy. the biggest endurance race i've ever experienced.
Prostreet handles very differently to previous NFS titles, and punishes you for missing brake points into corners. I've grown to like it, but it has put a lot of people off who preferred the old handling from Carbon and Most Wanted.
I haven't played TDU... yet :)
Millionaire Run sounds like a good enough challenge to buy the game :D
I didn't know it was set in Oahu, I live in hawaii so I may have to check this game out now.dahwnpapaya
you live in hawaii? thats sick haha i loved hawaii when i was there. we only spent time in Waikiki though. that Dukes restaurant is so awesome.
anyway yeah im not sure if they actually call the island Oahu in game, cant remember now..but i know its based off it. i think its meant to replicate the actual size and everything.
I did not like TDU - I found the game lacking in quality, especially since you would be knocked out of the game if the servers online happend to crash. The netcode was reminiscent of a nasty mexican donkey show along with the rampant number of cheaters within the game. So if the servers either didn't lag or crash at every whim, or you had some smacktard doing 2 mile runs in under 1.2 seconds, the game would be a friggin cakewalk.
Then there is the whole issue with the overly sensitive controls, and those poeple who cannot get the darn game to run period. NFS:P wasn't that bad, when put in comparision to the overaly agressive proctology exam I would like to call TDU. So what if the game's local is in Hawaii, it doesn't mean jack if the game doesn't run right.

Yeah, I love living here and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.....except that it sucks for pc gaming, not too many people play pc games and I usually get high pings while playing online.
