The Bad
  • Heavy reliance on other players can make or break the experience
  • Strategic depth can be daunting
  • Price pushes boundaries of reasonability.

I don't even know what to say... The price pushes boundaries of reasonabilty... ? Seriously.. what the hell is that guy smoking?I paid $50 for this game and i am very statisfied with my purcahse. This game will remain in 2 years more in developement.Valve is still tweaking a almost near pefect game and this guy is saying $20 is resonable when it can easily be $50.

Heavy? reliance on the player can break the experience.. The whole point of the game is to work together... how does it break the exp. If you want to run out alone you easilyyyyy can. Just can't be stiupd which this reviewer is..

Idk even know what to say but i really want ************************* to this reviewer.

I am aware you probably made topics like this but i just wanted to make one because this really distrubing me.

There is another thread like this.

And I am perfectly fine for the score, not the content of the review, the reviewers left have no idea of what makes a great reviewer, if you can check the review for Overclocked, it's on the recent PC reviews, and what they list on the bad section isn't bad...

It is true though. If you get a terrible team it is very frustrating because it is so heavily reliant on your team. It isn't like CSS, for example, where you can have a handbag player who just carries the whole team. You really need to work as a team in TF2 and if that isn't happening then it can be a crappy experience....

Definitely right - the score isn't what bothers me, it's why he gave it that score. His reasoning makes absolutely no sense. I hope GS decides not to stick by their review and have a more qualified reviewer write a new one.

^^ Some what you say might be true.. But thats for every game. take cod 4 instance if your on a bad team you will get span camped , and you wont be able enjoy the game at all. you will just keep gettin camped shot etc. It just think its that big of an issue in the game to point it as a bad. Since that can happen in any game.I also can't believe the fact this game hasnt been givin at least a 9 because I have noticed when ever you play this game you enjoy it and you want to keep playing more. Its not like that for me for any other game. Like cod 4, rainbow six vegas 2 etc. Even thought i spent more hours in cod 4 since i play it competitively i still think what tf 2 has no other game can offer. I just dont think the reviewer knows what he is talking about.

...that's not u being on a bad team, that's just the other team being better than you....or the other team being a bunch of turds and ruining the fun.

Players often tend to work as a team well simply by playing their cIass the way it's meant to be played. When you've got your medics trying to melee rather than heal the ****ing heavy, the engineers building their ****ing teleporter entrance and exit next to eachother and thinking it's ****ing funny, heavies spawn camping, pyros abusing the clipping issue that gets back in with every ****ing update, demos thinking putting stickies on the cap and going afk is their 'cIass role', soldiers blind firing and getting ****ing crits on you with pure ****ing luck and claiming it was deliberate, scouts thinking circle strafing heavies actually works and spies just, well, just being mother****ing spies, how can you have anything other than an excellent experience? Don't even get me started on snipers.

I'm just kidding. I've spent about 170 hours with TF2 now and I've only seen about three or four instances where one team was so much better than the other that there was no competition at all. It's true, though - when players play their cIass the way they're meant to be played, there is a good degree of teamwork through pure happenstance. Throw in some voice chat and you can have some pretty great coordination.

I've never had a bad experience with TF2 simply because my team was bad, and if that ever did occur, I'd be on another server in a few seconds.

The review is trash, the guy probably played 8v8 with a pad on his 360 and had no clue what he was doing and just BSed his way through twelve hundred words, thinking a mostly decent score would somehow legitimise his ineptitude. I bet most of us have played the game a lot more than he has, have actually played the better-than-the-male-multiple-orgasm PC version in the first place, and I bet any one of us could write a far more accurate review.

" Heavy reliance on other players can make or break the experience"

I think some already said this, but people for some reason are not proned to working together. I don;t know what it is, but whenever I have played an online game I have to practically force peoples hand to stay together and help each other out. So I can see where this might be a bad thing. One jerk could run the game for everyone else.

" Price pushes boundaries of reasonability."

By 50 dollars you mean orange box right? Game used to be 30 sold seperately then they finally dropped the price to 20, but even counting it all up it still doesn't equal orange boxes price. The game is also online only. Buying the game seperately in that regard just does not seem like a smart purchase.
