TF2 point system

Ok so I am super confused as to how the whole point system in this freaking game. I never really play for prolonged time periods maybe like an hour here and there but I have played that way for some time and still cant figure out how to unlock things or even keep my point tracker up .Everytime I play it seems like my points reset to 1,000. Please I really like the game but would also really like to get some new stuff to play with.

This sounds like one or more servers running a certain plugin. Team Fortress 2 itself doesn't have a point system like that, but I have seen many servers (across various Source games) that use it. It means nothing toward your achievements or unlockables.

Wow so the points dont mean a thing. Now I see why everyone is mad aboout the unlockables now. Its all random?? How much freakin since does that make.seancollins1987

So only the Spy and sniper come random all the others come from the achievments listed in the game menu??? WhY Why Why????seancollins1987

Im pretty sure you can unlock the older items through achievements but you can still get them randomly.

My friend has gotten the gloves and natascha again from the random pick.
