Okay, I previously got The Orange Box for Xbox360 I thought TF2 was okay. Now since my pc can run games nice, I was wondering If I should pick it up for pc(since I dont have OB anymore) It seems like everyone loves it... but no one was playing it on x360.. I havent been really impressed with valves multiplayer fps's like CS and L4D.. Do you think that the pc makes TF2 shine?

Vs the console version: 12 v 12 rather than 6 v 6 (and that number is usually modded to be even higher) - the way TF2 is meant to be played Large population; you will never not have plenty of people to play with Keyboard and mouse Player made maps and mods The console version is a completely gutted, quite pathetic version of TF2. And this isn't bias or PC-pride or something, it's a simple fact. If you've only played the console version of TF2, you haven't played TF2.

Yeah tf2 is just not the same on console as it is on the PC.

The PC can actually run the game properly for a start.

The PC has a good community, lots of dedicated servers and higher player counts.

You get all the content from the official updates including weapons, maps and game modes, for free.

Access to custom maps and servers and SDK if you're keen.

And probably more...

All this adds to the overall experience making it more enjoyable, But if you already don't like the game for its gameplay then it probably isn't for you. Having an active community does help alot in this area though.

If you enjoy fps' at all get it. If your competitive or just play for fun it doesn't matter, tf2 has both. Tons of servers and people playing, regular updates, the classes are great, the game is balanced (based on skill...some classes are more noob friendly or whatever but it all works out in the end). My only advise would be to wait for it to go on sale at steam.. they usually do a promotion when a new update comes out, although i have no idea how much it costs now...

- Competitive matches and pubs mixed together. You can play hardcore, or laid back. The game can be real accessible, or a real trial of your reflexes as a gamer.

- Mods. I'll say it again : MODS. Many mods have been created since TF2's PC launch, and many of them have received an official seal of approval by Valve themselves (Hydro, Badlands, Steel, etc.) to allow players to test the quality of its creators' work.

- Large population. Many of them are at 12 vs 12 to 16 vs 16, up to 24 to 32 players at once in a single game. Very hectic, very chaotic, very fun.

- Mouse & Keyboard. You'll see a lot of advanced manoeuvers you would never be able to pull off with a gamepad alone. More flexible movement - much more fluid gameplay - much better experience overall.

- Updates. Small or big, they serve to enhance the TF2 experience. With the full support of Valve, we receive major content updates as well, and at no additional costs.

The PC version of TF2 completely drives down its console counterparts : some may even go as far as to say it is a superior online FPS experience to even console juggernauts such as Call of Duty 4, Halo 3 and Killzone 2.

oh my god tf2 on pc is a ocmpletely different game. i was the same way you were about tf2 on pc since i had played it on 360 and though eh. pc has a huge community, lots of updates, and having the proper amount of people (at least enough to have one of each class per team) in most games makes it the version that is the way it's meant to be played.

Slush, you would be an absolute madman not to try this game on PC. You truly don't know what you're missing out on, bro. TF2 on the XBOX 360 is not the real TF2. There are so many reasons why, it would take me ages just to list them off. All I can say is try it on PC or catch it during one of the free weekends (during updates, which is not too often unfortunately) and you'll surely agree that the 360 version is not even half of the TF2 experience - I can say that without an ounce of exaggeration. It has really changed that much since release and since the many updates that have been released.

If you want TF2, you should get The Orange Box. Great value.

Was the same way...had orange box for 360 and played a bit of TF2...wasn't too impressed. All I can say is GET IT FOR PC!!!

LOL, you don't even have to rebuy the Orange box...you can get TF2 for 10-20 bucks depending on the promotions being run. It is a completely different animal with unlockable weapons and costumes and 5X as many people in each game!

The PC version is vastly superior to 360 version. And I don't like CS:S either.

Yeah the community is highly active, and Valve still lives up to the promise of updating the game "for free".

TeamFortress 2. This is the best multiplayer game I've played in a long time. More and more updates come out for TF2 which is excellent. If you haven't got it already id recommend you buy it.
