Can you not tell? The intel hexcore in $1000!! and this is barely the price of a I5! but need good reviews first so I'm trying it out for you guys. I'll post the reiew once i get it and test it out.I hardly think Intel got owned...

this is actually good news for us users as intel will soon bring out a hexacore at these prices. competition is goodFUBAR24Indeed, indeed. Best when the customers get good deals and better quailty.
I want to max out the black edition to a 4.2Why get the black save money oc the 1055

so you think intel is just gonna sit by and let amd take the hexacore market? cause if thats the case then you have some serious issues[QUOTE="Human-after-all"][QUOTE="FUBAR24"]this is actually good news for us users as intel will soon bring out a hexacore at these prices. competition is goodFUBAR24

Yes, and unfortunately for AMD their new hexacores are only on par with an i7 930. Higher end i7 CPUs still leave the X6s in their dust, and the performance gap between the best X6 and the i7 980X is as large as the price difference.

I was merely pointing out that you are dreaming if you think intel will release a processor at the same price point as AMD. They know their markets and Intel hasn't been competitively priced with AMD for a long time.
From speculative point, Intel will release lesser hexacores with crippled bandwidth, and insanely low multiplier priced next to the Thuban just to spite them. Im just guessing.
Sadly, this appears to be true. For heavily (and efficiently) threaded applications you cannot beat the price/performance of this chip. For uneven workloads, which is essentially representative of the type of computing by mainstream users, you are better off getting an i7 or a good quad.Yes, and unfortunately for AMD their new hexacores are only on par with an i7 930. Price wise: AMD wins! Performence wise: I got no idea Although i high think that intel will winAMDs' products are not as pricey as Intels and they have almost the same or more performance. I've liked AMD for a long time. and I'm not going for Intel anytime soon mainly because you don't get that much of a performance boost for such a high price.redframe01Intel has almost every price/performance bracket locked up.... More importantly they are for more OC friendly at the moment, which is all I care about personally. But I'll always has a soft spot for AMD, my first build was with a barton 2500+.

So for $295 I got one of the best gaming CPUS on the market, OCed to 4ghz and nothing at stock speeds comes close to it.
i5's/i7's are better. See no reason to go AMD right now. i5750at4Ghztake your quad core i5 and put it next to the 6 core amd and try and rendering 10000 frames from maya. amd will win by miles. When cores mean more than speed 6 will aways beat 4. Amd's cpus are much better value plus they work in boards from 2007.

Even if I did, as a complete system the i5 is better. It will do 90% of what you need to do faster.

so you think intel is just gonna sit by and let amd take the hexacore market? cause if thats the case then you have some serious issues AMD/GoFlo can't fabricate enough CPUs to satisfy 50 percent of X86 PC market. Without the industrial strength, AMD is not big threat to Intel.for a gaming computer though is a hexacore really necessary? i mean i could understand for like animation and other film related applications but for gaming it just seemes a bit overkillishFUBAR24Quad cores are barely being used so getting a hexacore CPU for gaming is just stupid right now.
That why you should get the x6 1055t it is the best value cpu out and nothing intel has at that price point can touch it. I don't know what it takes to impress you but it cost 210 bucks hex core @ 4.3ghz.The 1090T has a lower performance/price than similarly priced intel CPUs. This was a disappointment.
bzwax
The only thing holding this cpu back is the dual channel dd3 they need to go triple and this will be a monster. As it stands you can get this cpu with mobo, memory and a 5870 for less than the cost of i7 980x. If that not impressive I don't know what is ???
Sadly all these CPUs are not worth it. A good old Q6600 or Phenom 955 will do just as good for games. Don't mention any other things like media, this is a gaming forum.SinfulPotato
I still have my Q6600 @ 3.6 Ghz.
It works great. I'm waiting for something that is more than twice as powerfull as my Q6600 for under $200. :)
