Yeah good point, with that i bet you could max Crysis @ 2560x1600.

Though in order to get 4 HD 3870's you'll need the Spider Platform, and a Phenom X4 would likely bottleneck (No biggie though)

No computer you can build today with consumer parts can max Crysis at 2560x1600.

The HD3870 X2 on its own is good enough.

Just headout and buy a good 500w PSU to go with it. :D

(Here's hoping that some AMD driver developer reads this and is now working hard on those R680 drivers  )

Something along these lines: -Intel Skulltrail mobo (dual Socket 771, nVIDIA MCPs for SLI support) -2*Intel Xeon X5365, X7350, or whatever model has a Penryn quad-core -8-48 GB of RAM, whatever the mobo max is -2*GeForce 8800 Ultra (or GT if you want H.264/AVC decoding to be handled entirely by the graphics cards and NOT the CPU) -Auzentech X-Fi Prelude -15,000 RPM SAS drives or SSDs in RAID -Phase-change cooling on everything that can be overclocked -2*1000W+ PSUs of your choice It's probably going to end up being so expensive that it just isn't practical while STILL not being able to run Crysis on Ultra High beyond slideshow framerates, but there's just something nice about having the best PC around, don't you think?

as you should have known im not a long time pc gamer so plz simplify the tech stufffootfoe2

It's really very simple, Footfoe. Some people like Intel and some people like AMD. Just like some people prefer ATI and others nVidia. Your question was a simple one and understandable, as you are new to PC gaming. You want to know whats best. I could give you my opinion, but others would disagree.

So, I'll suggest this. Go to Google and run a search for Intel vs AMD benchmarks. Go to several of the sites the search provides and look at the charts showing the scores, then read the author's conclusions. Repeat this process with ATI vs nVidia. Once you have a general idea of the way things are, go to a site like NewEgg and price the parts that looked the best to you in the benches. Look at the reviews that previous purchasers have posted about each part. Weigh the part's performance vs the amount you want to spend and don't forget to read the reviews previous purchasers have posted. Even if you don't want to buy from NewEgg, the prices and reviews make it a handy resource. Just remember, the most expensive stuff isn't always the most value for the money.
