I am looking for a good MMORPG...with a great communty, good fun, which doesnt force you to play otaku style, has good PvP and Solo gameplay.

And ya, i want it to be a really good looking MMORPG

I've played WoW for a pretty long time, and i want something that can run nicely on HD5770 Graphic card in 1080p resolution on a HDTV

Thanks in advance

Moreover, my HD 5770 is quiet noisy. Any good silent but fast alternative??

Beyond any doubt World of Warcraft is the best MMORPG game to this date. Its subsciption fees are very little (0.5 $ per day, something like that) and you get a hell of customer service, continous updates and expansions to the game.

Despite what u might hear from haters of this game, one thing they cant argue of is that WOW have revolutionaized the MMO genre.

best community ever, with over 15 million users.

there is something for everyone in this game.

take my advice just give it a try.....

have fun :) wish to see u iinside

btw i have played many MMO games, from LOTRO, Warhammer, Conan, free MMOs, rune of magic and even World of warcraft privite free hacked servers.

Nothing, and i mean nothing came close to what i get from WOW on the real blizzard servers.

poupy79
err he said he played WoW for a long time already. IMHO I would suggest to wait for LOTRO to turn F2P this Sept so you have nothing to lose...heard it has a great community and good content for solo and group. Its PVP is a bit different...its PVMP but friends that played LOTRO mentioned that it was a lot of fun.

Aion was great but it had just pvp and not a lot of Pve so if you want to do some hardcore raiding stick with WoW :P

LOTRO should definitely be on your list. It goes F2P in the autumn so give it a go, after playing WoW you should find it very familiar and the graphics are up there with the best of any MMO I've played.

iF ITS Free to play, then i guess there will be cash shops.

And why is it going free to play? How are the developers going to earn from it? Unless they put those stupid cash shops that drains ur credit card more than drugs..

I would like a comparative analysis on these games that i glanced upon

1) Age of Conan

2) Warhammer Online

3) Guild Wars 2

4) LOTRO

How do they compare to WoW, and each other in terms of

a) gRaphics

b) PvE

c) PvP

d) Community

e)Grind

LOTRO

a) gRaphics: AMAZING if your PC can handle them at FULL

b) PvE: IMO the best out there

c) PvP: Hardly any... it has a Monsters Mode which is sort of PvP arena but that's it

d) Community: probably one of the best

e)Grind: every MMO has grind, but I didn't feel it as much in this game

1)AoC

a)I dont like the art design because it make the game look so fake... But that is simply my opinion.

b)Average at best

c)Average at best

d)Like every other mmo

e)Around the same thins that other mmo's have

2)WAR online

a)Wow graphics ++

b)Public Quests are fun, The AI on boss fights is horrible, instances are boring...

c)lvl 1-21 is the most fun pvp i have had in a very long time. After that it looks like another team made the later parts of the game.

d)Decent / like other mmo's

e)Like other mmo's... quests / collect stuff / kill things over and over again untill you complete the book thingy.

3)GW 2? Is it even out yet? Its not a mmo right?

4)LOTRO

a)okey

b)okey

c)LOL hahahaha

d)Okey

e)Like other mmo's

Overall warhammers lvl 1-10 trial is fun... Also you should play on the US servers.

man, if LOTRO has laughable PVP then no point playing the game..i wonder why its so famous.. Without good PvP component, its better to play offline games like Dragon Origin

And from ur opinions, i gues there is no GOOD mmorpgs.

Or is it that WoW has set the bar too high?

kinda downer for me, was expecting to buy a good MMORPG for a change from WoW

Well if it makes you feel better, it's hard to find an MMORPG that don't have soloing nowadays. :P I can only think of two MMOs. Also, describe what 'good PVP' is to you. Are you a lone wolf in PVP as well?

If you are looking for a strong PVP based game I'd recommend EVE online. It's graphics are some of the best out there in MMO standards, it has a very indepth market/economy, and is a very unforgiving game when it comes to PVP. Like that new ship you just purchased and decide to fly into a pirate (player controlled) area then either A) You can fend them off or B) Enjoy the taste of goop as your clone awakes.

some of us (most, I would argue, considering PvP servers are the lowest populated and since Warhammer Online flopped) play MMOs for coop, i.e. PvE...nothing better than going through a tough dungeon or questing for a couple hours with friends

with that said, if you are looking for PvP, I recommend EVE Online...simply epic, you might find the pacing too slow, though

Well warhammer could have been alot better. Sadly when the devs think like this "Content > bug fixes"... And their balance team is like a drunk elephant on roller blades... yeah...

Anyway yes eve is great... But not very newbie friendly.

LOTRO is great, I haven't played in almost a year, but might get back into it. I love it, great quest/instances good community with some nice guilds.

I would recommend purchasing a nice headset, I have a turtle beach one myself and it is great for talking to others, especially during fights

I agree with others, PvE is the greatest thing in gaming history when playing coop, nothing beats kicking the ass of a MASSIVE turtle or squid 'the watcher' with 11 other people :)

Ill probably start playing again, its so fun

there are alot of mmos, and most of them are good in certain ways. Overall though, wow seems to be the one that anyone can get into. Alot of people try to downplay any mmo not named wow, but there are plenty of great mmos with healthy communities.

AION is good but the lack of quests at ~ level 20 means your grinding until level cap. It has almost no PvE at end game but the PvP is amazing.

I Started playing Allods Online from gPotato.com about a month ago, and I was pleasantly surprised. I have been looking for an MMO that I could play for free online. its very WoW-like in its gameplay style and the overall consensus is thats its a great game.

It is however still in Open Beta phase, so it has its bugs, but luckily the developers are pretty good at fixing the bugs quickly.

Its a RPG/Adventure/Sci-Fi/kickMOFOass game....and even though everyone compares Allods Online to World of Warcraft, its pretty clear when you play and meet the players that most of the players refuse to make the comparison and prefer to consider it its own game. And when some WoW convert starts spamming how great WoW is in the Zone chat....or how "in WoW its like this..." or when they start complaining about bugs and such that they are quickly hammered by anyone that is paying attention. And if it they still dont shut up then they just get pwned by anyone and everyone that is close enough to do anything.

Take a look.

Just cause an MMO doesn't have PvP doesn't make it bad....and saying go play a SP game is wrong. What about people who like to quest in groups and do lots of PvE?

Well lets get two things out of the way. LOTRO is not f2p yet so forget about it till fall I think its pointless to start now since alot of things can change when a game changes the payment model. Guild Wars 2 is a 2011 release.

And now for the other two. Both games are great there is no doubt about that. Both look good although graphically Age of Conan beats every other mmo out there, yes that includes Aion, a game I would not recommend. Comparing the games to WoW: both look better whether you like the style the games have is a different matter. PvE in AoC is some of the best you will find right now. I would say that it is actually better than in WoW becouse of the combat system and becouse it is hard. If a quest is meant for a group you better find a full group. Elites and Bosses on alot lower lvl than you will still anihilate you if you are alone. The PvE in WAR isnt really the focus so its not that good although there are public quests and overall more imaginative quests than in WoW. The problem is that the population is rather small so unless you find a good guild you wont get to do alot of the public quests. Both games as far as I have played can be solod. AoC becouse it has a ton of quests that are not group ones and in WAR you can easily lvl by doing PvP so...

PvP in both games is great. In AoC its basically becouse of the combat system which is unlike any other in the mmo genre. You have battlegrounds that are fun and more open world large scale warfare with your guild which can be awesome when not spoiled by lag. PvP in WAR is amazingly fun when everything goes well. BGs are fine and when I played it wasnt hard to join one. The open world PvP in the begining of the game is also great. The problems start when you get to the point where you participate in sieges. Attacking a keep can be very frustrating. Basically you run a few minutes to get to the battle, when there if you have competent healers around its very exhilirating, but if healers are rubbish you will find yourself running to the battle more than actually enjoying the fighting. I had many experiances where I ran for 5 min to get to the battle where I died withing the first 10 seconds and no one rezzed me, so I had to do it on my own and once more run to the battle.

Community is a hard thing to judge. Find a guild is always what I would suggest if you want to deal with the immaturity of most players. The AoC chat (I wont say the community since when you play with people they are nice and helpful) is pure garbage. Its a cesspool of kids, porn talk, QQing. Its Barrens chat all the time basically. Its hard to say anything about WARs community becouse the game felt so empty when I played it. In PvP its fine there are always people but outside of that it feels pretty barren. I can say that no bad experiances stuck in my mind.

Grind...well grind is a controversial thing. Both games have the standard fetch quests, kill x number of something and so on, but I can really say that I have ever felt the boredom of grinding when playing the games.

This man speaks the truth and nothing but the truth, so help me god. I personally have played WoW, EVE, AoC, WAR, Aion, Vanguard, DAoC, DDO, and Allods. WoW and EVE are the only 'top-notch' games imho. Not to say other mmorpg's are worthless, they all have their own high and low points, but if you want an mmo that will bring you the intensity and feeling that you are playing a 'number-one' game WoW and EVE are the king daddys of mmorpgs right now.

I've searched for an mmorpg that could provide the satisfaction, the most intense and intelligent pvp, and the best player interaction that I got from playing WoW and EVE, it's just not out there. Aion is very fresh, intense, and unique in the pvp aspect, but that game certainly has some glaring low points outside the intense end-game pvp.

that was exactly my point. Thanks for not misunderstanding that.

WoW and EVE are the only two MMOs that really nail the fundamentals of MMOs (community, world, and gameplay) while also providing more such as incredibly good support, weekly updates, hours upon hours of additional content for free, etc.

In short, WoW and EVE are the only two MMOs that actually earn the monthly fee.

Now, that is not to say other MMOs are not good. Lord knows I enjoyed me some LOTRO, and AoC was quite innovative. And while they might do some things as good as WoW or EVE (and even a few things better). But there just is no reason to not play WoW or EVE. Unless you are burned out on them from palying them prior; and, in that case, youre better off not playing an MMO period than going to another one. Take a break.

But WoW and EVE are, as I said, the only games complete deserving of the monthly fee. Theyre polished, have incredible communities, and solid gameplay. I am also happy the two best MMOs on the market are also incredibly diverse; one is fantasy, the other scifi...one is traditional leveling and killing and questing, the other is unique and innovative.

Man, what do u mean by Warhammer PVP failed? For me PvP should be like , small group of friends who know each other, goes out, finds another group and BANG (XD XD), kill them. And run like the wind before they inform their higher level clanmates. I used to do a lot in WoW. Going to Barrens and waiting to kill poor parties heheheehehehehheeeh.. For PvE, i like soloing. The AI fo creeps aint that smart, and i dont like sharing exp.. so i dont really enjoy questing with a big group. Maybe if i am a Rogue i would like some buffer with me for easy killing..maximum 1 friend for PvE. Seeing EVE online, its kinda scary.. I am not the kind who gets way deep into the gameplay and all. i dont wanna get caught in the learning curve.

WAR failed becouse it wasnt a 3 faction RvR game like it should have been. The PvP you described doesnt really exist anymore and talking about PvP in WoW shows how bad the situations is. PvP these days is either BGs or ganking. I would say try Dark Age of Camelot for your PvP needs. The game is old though.

There is a trial that last forever (to level 10) in warhammer right now.

Anyway... I found level 1-20 the most fun in warhammer.

EVE Online is the best game EVER in my opinion. Not a fanboy, it's not my favorite game, I've been screwed over countless times by savvier players and ragequt in disgust several times. But that's the thing, it's the best sandbox game by far, gives incredible freedom to players (at the expense of balance and fairness) and goes way, way beyond the highly regulated nature of WoW and its clones.

iF ITS Free to play, then i guess there will be cash shops.

And why is it going free to play? How are the developers going to earn from it? Unless they put those stupid cash shops that drains ur credit card more than drugs..

I would like a comparative analysis on these games that i glanced upon

1) Age of Conan

2) Warhammer Online

3) Guild Wars 2

4) LOTRO

How do they compare to WoW, and each other in terms of

a) gRaphics

b) PvE

c) PvP

d) Community

e)Grind

I don't recommend WoW, and you've done it, so w/e. However it's the only really really developed MMO community so...

LOTRO's PVP does suck, but that's because they're pretty damn focused on the PVE instead, so that's pretty solid. But, as mentioned before the community is pretty small and pretty anti every other MMO especially WoW. I found that pretty funny. Every time I made a public complaint about anything, the response was generally "Go back to WoW kid". But anyway, if you can get past the small, chip-on-their-shoulders community, there is some good PVE and questing to be had, though it pretty much ends up being repetitive in the end.

AoC is even more dead than both, and I just wouldn't go there. It's graphics are good, but pretty bland and believe me, having to zone into/out of everything will start you having flash backs to the 90's, so I don't have any love for their dev team's complete retardation. They pretty much killed the community themselves 3 years ago, so it's up to you.

Can't comment on EVE, haven't tried that.

Personally I'd sait for ToR or FF XIV. The former will probably have better PVP and the latter better PVE and more content in the end. Meh.

I just recently re-subber Star Wars Galaxies and coming back to see how the NGE has been playing out since it went live some years past. So far I'm enjoying it again even though it isn't as awesome as it once was but it still a lot better then some others that being mentioned like WAR, AoC and AION. The player community really makes this game shine and it doesn't have a heavy reliance on instances as some other games do and PvP is open world so you don't have to enter any battleground like place even though there is one area, PvE is fun especially factional PvE. Player classes are up to 9 which is more then most games out there and their is a lot of customization which can be done to give your guy a somewhat unique look. Plus it has space combat which can be fun and there are tons of areas to explore and the player crafting infrastructure is probably still one of the most complex in any game to date.

Lord of the Rings Online is a spectacular MMO. I only play Guild Wars, LOTRO and Star Trek Online waiting for GW2!

Icurrently play age of conan, its a great game.

I cant really comment on the others, ive heard warhammer is dead, guildwars 2 isint out yet, and i never liked lotro.

So i can fill this out for age of conan for you

a) Graphics are amazing if you can handle it (from what you have said ill bet your system can run this game just fine)

b) There is a good amount of endgame PvE instances such as raids and other things to do

c) The pvp is great, the best ive ever played. The combat system is what makes it so unique and fun compared to other games

d) The community depends on what server you play on. out of the two pvp servers there are i have played on both and one has a great community while the other's community is horrible and is killing the server

e) Ofcourse there is a grind and your first character will be the toughest grind but once you have alts you will know what to do and how to get through the lvls quickly and there is plenty of ways to get through the lvls fast
