acer is way better then dell and upgrade is easy as they use retail parts unlike dellIQT786
I agree with upgrading part. I bought a Dell 9150 and I'm limited to what CPU I can upgrade to (mobo is limited to Pentium Ds max), It's really annoying, I should have built my own really.

Currently the only thing that is annoying about Dells is that they'll use BTX-form motherboards and cases. Otherwise, everything else is pretty standard.. PCI-e x16 slot, ATX-form power supply, etc.
Dell is your best bet over in the UK. They have some pretty good deals.Hiryuu_
example on uk dell and acer
if sell gives u aceleron acer will give u a amd x2 thats how it is acer is way better and more popular in the uk with the t180 amd 4000+ x2 only cost £300 dell is very limited i got a acer and took everthing out and put it in a antec 900 it was easy try and do it with dell aint gona happen acer is the new and improved dell
You don't want to be limited in upgrades after 13 months don't buy a Dell.chessboxer1
What, and you think Acer desktops are somehow more upgradeable? Lmao, they probably use the same damn parts or at least similar.. except that Dell would use a better power supply.

dell is 100 times more popular than acer trust me here in the uk that pretty much have market dominance in the pre-built section. its not because there better because they might not be is because they market it so much theres dell adverts everywhere even in almost every single newspaper.[QUOTE="chessboxer1"]You don't want to be limited in upgrades after 13 months don't buy a Dell.Hiryuu_

no just corrected the guy that said they were more popular, like hiryuu said they are pretty but the same apart from mobo bios.Every single common manufacturer of pre-builts beside Dell (and Gateway?) use micro-ATX form motherboards for the majority of their computer models. The power supplies are always ATX-form, although they will sometime use micro-ATX form PSUs for small form factor cases.
So basically, you're still wrong. Admit it.
If one buys a pre-built and upgrades to a better motherboard, chances are you'd need a new case.
