Hey I know making 2 threads at once is somewhat taboo so I hope you don't mind.

Just before I buy this thing was wondering whether anyone would make any changes. It comes to $1700 but I have the PSU and GPU already so that means I'm paying $1400 off www.aria.com because I live in the UK.

Case: Antec 300

Mobo: Asus P6DT Deluxe Intel x58 DDR3

CPU: Intel Core i7-920

RAM: Corsair DDR3 1600MHZ 6GB

OS: Windows 7

GPU: HD570 1GB

PSU: OCZ 600W

HDD: Samsung 1TB F3 SATA 2 7200RPM 32MB CACHE

Drive: Lite-On 4x Internal Blu Ray BD-ROM SATA

Is there any other upgrade I should make that is worth it in terms of money...let's say money isn't TOO much of an issue (another $300 could work out ok)

If your only getting the 5750, don't. You ARE better off spending the money on a GTS 250, 4850 or 4870.

Those three will perform faster for cheaper.

Since you have the money though try and get yourself a 5850 or 5870. If you can't find one, get a 5770.

You should chek out this full tower case, only 69.99. Not much price difference but it is an AWESOME deal!!!

That case is notorious for having the fans break. Also because of their size they are hard to replace and expensive.

I would recommend a full tower case. Like a Cooler Master HAF 932. You might also want to look into an aftermarket cpu cooler & thermal grease.

Well things are more versatile then I made out: when I said I had the 5750 I lied and meant I'll have it by this weekend. So when I go into my hardware store I'll get the 5770.

The reason I'm putting the 5770 over any of the 4,000 models is directx11 suppourt and the fact when new drivers are released and updated, it supposedly will be faster than the early 4,00 models. In my opinion the step up from a 700 model to an 800 model isn't worth the price jump considering the marginal increase in performance. I'd rather wait 4 years and buy another card in the high end category then spend a lot on a very high end card now.

Thanks for the advice on the dvd drive: I'm not too fussed about Blu-Ray so I'll get a fast DVD drive for cheaper and throw in A Blu-Ray drive when it becomes the norm.

The tower case is quite a lot more expensive. However, I'm tempted to buy one assuming that is I won't need to bother with any cooling on top of what it already has. I also like the size increase: just in case cards in the future get bigger. If I get the Coolermaster, will I need CPU cooling?

Finally just wondering if I'm missing anything. I'd hate to order all the components and start building only to realise somwthing is missing. Any wires or extras I need to get started?

The i7 920 will come with Intel's stock cpu cooler. It does alright so long as you run your cpu at stock speeds (don't overclock). I would recommend you get some good thermal grease to replace what comes on Intel's stock cooler (it could lower temps a few degrees). You can always get an aftermarket cooler down the road and use the stock cooler for now. A full tower case will offer better airflow, which means lower temps, than a mid tower (i believe the Antec 300 is a mid tower). Video cards are getting longer every time a new generation of cards come out. Right now, the 5870 is 11 inches long and the 5970 is 12 inches (I don't know how long the 5770 is). The next generation of cards will most likely be longer. You look like you have everything you will need. The case and mobo should come with all the screws and cables (internal) that you will need for the pc. Also, if you don't have an anti-static wrist strap then get one of those too. You don't need anything fancy just one the goes around your wrist and can be connected to your case or somewhere to ensure that you are grounded.

Ok I'll go for the Coolermaster HAF.

I was going to OC the CPU from 2.66hz to 3ghz so should I pick up a Xigmatek Dark Knight S1283V Heat Sink and Fan? (this is looking a little like your pc :P)

Personally, I think you should pick up an aftermarket cpu cooler and thermal grease if you are going to overclock. The general consensus of the stock cpu coolers are that they suck, especially for overclocking. The Xigmatek Dark Knight will keep your cpu temps much lower than the stock cooler. Here is a review for some cpu coolers for the socket 1366 i7 cpu's. CPU Cooler Review

Ok thanks jt you've been a great help. I'll pick one up as that article points to it lowering temperature by about 18 degrees. I think I'm sorted now but feel free to add anything if you think I've overlooked anything.

I was able to overclock my i7 920 to 3.6GHz on the stock cooler for 24/7 operations without any problems. I then upped it to 3.8GHz when I got my ThermalRight TRUE 120.
