How many of you believe that the 8800GT (SLI or not) will hold well into the future of gaming?

Just looking for a general consensus for curiosity's purpose

Well, i'm assuming that Crysis is the next step into the future of gaming... so i'm guessing along the lines of Crysis quality games. And just in the general direction that games are heading (next several years, which is a long time to keep around hardware, i know).

The 8800GT should be a perfectly fine card for another year and a half to two and a half years. Maybe more, if you don't mind medium settings and below.

Probably the worst video card ever. I'd be surprised if you could push 20fps in minesweeper :P

You are running SLI and really Crysis is the only game that rapes PCs. Look for AlanWake, FarCry and Project Offset to give it another push, but other than Crysis, nothing could bring that PC to its knees.

yep I just said that hes running SLI. The only game that would bring that PC to its knees now and in the future would be the ones I listed. Other than that hes fine for SLI 8800GT.

Well running a stock heatsink with overclocking @ 3.4Ghz will do that to you

I'm guessing for another year or two. Considering you can run a very needy Crysis with 8800GT. And I dont expect games in the future to be demanding like Crysis for another 2-3 years.

Crysis is just a poorly optimized game and is a bad example to cite. I see games in the not to distant future that will look as good or better then Crysis and not demand SLI 9800GTX to get 35fps.
