I think we all have been thinking about a new game with all the things we loved in other games we played before.. so this is your chance to let everyone know what crazy ideas you have for a new game..

Ok.. obviously .. i will start..

I was thinking about a FPS or maybe a RPG game like oblivion, with a real damage system.. where u can blow up a piece of skin or bone.. and see the NPCsfall because of the pain.. and act like he is affraid of you.. giving you their weapons and trying to reach a safe place begging you to leave him alive.. that will be awesome... and maybe some sword or machete or a chainsaw that react to NPCs bodies like the real ones.. showing cuts and pieces flying offs their limps.. that will be great.

I'm not talkin about a senseless gory and violent game.. i'm talkin about realism.. real feelings and real damage.. that could be applicated to war sims or any other FP game using weapons.. and it will give a sense of compassion to the NPCs.

Ok.. maybe thats not a game.. but a technology in a game.. but thats all i have in mind right now.. anyway.. what i'm talking about in this thread.. is to give you the chance to write anything u want.. like a game story or in-game system or technology or weapon or any other ideas u have in mind.. to create your dreams game.. it's all yours..

Not quite my first choice, but that would definitely be up there. Freespace 1/2 were two of the greatest games ever made, ironically from a genre that I otherwise have no interest in at all.

Well I may aswell throw something I briefly conjured up thinking it could work... Somehow.

I was talking to a friend the other day, and somehow we got onto the subject of Starcraft: Ghost and pondered what happened to it.

I had this wacky idea that maybe Blizzard scrapped Ghost for an MMO upon the realization that an FPS may be complete suck, compared to the cash machine that is World of Warcraft.

So picture this. Huxley, (if you haven't heard of it, type it in that wacky search feature up there) but in the Starcraft Universe. If anything, it looks like that there race (forget the name) of beasties in Huxley are similar to the Zerg anyway. So Blizzard wouldn't be totally copying :P

I don't know, I think the idea of an MMOFPS in the Starcraft Universe would be kickass, and not totally far fetched. Instances in the form of 1000 player FPS madness, which you enter in groups of dropships, or burst forth from the earth if you're on the ground as the Zerg, warp in as the Protoss etc (Not being really imaginative here)... I dunno. It all sounded good at the time :P

That's my idea anyway, I wouldn't say dream game but hell, mix Huxley and Starcraft- I'd play it.

EDIT: Yes I realise Starcraft 2 is on the way, which is another thing I took into consideration, considering WoW was in the works when Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne were released.

A massive, globe trotting free roamer played in the first person perspective. Vehicles and aircraft are a must. Graphics as good or better than Oblivion; high fps (good optimization). Essentially GTA: Global in first person. Modern day.

Forgive the slap-dash, incohesiveness of my post. I think you get the general idea?

A multiplayer online FPS using source engine called Pirate Cove or something similar. In it, two teams of pirates fight to complete objectives. One such objective could be boarding the enemy ship from yours and planting explosives below deck to destroy it. Another could be one team assaulting a town and the British have to defend it and keep the pirates from getting into the governors mansion.

You would have to buy weapons a la CS: Source with the doubloons (lol) you get from killing enemies or winning matches. You would start the round with a cutlass/dagger thingy, and you could buy weapons like flint lock pistols (different variations with more power/less accuracy and so on) and muskets. You could also by those little bob-omb like round bombs with fuses that you could use like grenades.

Also, there could be more teams like the pirate team, British, Spanish, or French.

I'm actually trying to make a mod of this, lol. I was gonna try and mod Pirates Vikings and Knights 2, but it seems too confusing to make a mod of a mod. I don't know how to mod CS either, the SDK only lets you mod Half Life 2 or HL2 mp.

If anyone can help me with this PM me!

Well, the technology isn't possible yet, but my dream game would be controlled directly by the player, as if he was in the game (something like the matrix). The gameplay would be something like unreal tournament, but with the addition of powers the players themselves can invent by just believing they can do them.

I would like to see a Wii-style controller on the pc,

..with a hand-to-hand sword/axe/shield action combat where you can truely hack'n'slash your opponents apart till you are sloshing around kneedeep in gibby gore of blended flesh, severed parts and pools of blood.an ass kicking sci-fi/fantasy setting too, if its to be done right !!!a blend of enclave/demon-stone and painkiller and WarriorWithin(pop2)

The recently announced cancellation of Auto Assault (which I had no idea had already been released) got me thinking about just this topic.

I want an Interstate `76 MMORPG. Can you think of anything cooler than racing around a post-apocalyptic Nevada desert in 70's-era cars, shooting at other 70's-era cars, listening to funk all day? Everything about the game is perfect for a MMORPG. You choose different types of cars, you upgrade said cars with better gear, you try to hold strategic locations like gas stations and body shops, you wear afros and bellbottoms. Man, it'd be sweet.

Sounds a lot like a next-generation Die by the Sword. (It even allows you to directly control your sword arm with a mouse or joystick! Oh, and there's plenty of dismemberment, too.) Anyway, I have two game concepts, but going into too much detail would result in the longest post to grace these forums...and that's just going for ONE of them. Let's just say that they both involve first-person combat, role-playing, and huge-ass floating battleships that you can board and take over. What's the difference? One is set on a small landmass(about the size of Britain)on an alien world torn by war and plays much like an Elder Scrolls game with sci-fi elements and a dynamic campaign, while the other is a space adventure and starship simulator(think Starflight/Star Control II, Independence War 2, a hint of Freespace, and Battlecruiser/Universal Combat thrown into a blender set to puree, and with the ability for you to board ships and fight it out FPS-style).

like a modern day oblivion where you get missions from people.

A mega large freeroamer fps with leveling skills like acurracy etc.

With a gr story and eatgreat voice acting

Main mision totals to 40 hours and 200 hours of side quests and they would release updates that added more quest for free

The game would cost $0;)

RPG/RTSwith multiple factions, and you can be a part of one (working your way up) or form your own. You could cause problems between the factions or strive for peace. The game could have a buildmode like The Sims structure building+interiors so you could create your own fortresses/structures, choosing the building materials and defenses, which your workers would need time and protection to construct. Using physics the structures could be destroyable making the player have to actually think about defense, and where they want to attack other structures from.

An indepth advanced quest generator that creates constantly evolving contentwithout pre-programmed solutions, instead your choices on how you deal with it affects how the NPC's of the gameworld view you. For example the generator creates a war party that attacks one of your controlled settlements. If you ignore it the settlement could be destroyed, taken over, or severely weakened. Your settlements would lose loyalty as a result of seeing that, depending on the size of the settlement you ignored it could even abandon your faction and declare loyalty to another one taking it's resources with it. However if you took good care of your military they may crush that rebellion making future villagers less likely to try toabandon you, but more susceptible to joining a rival faction if they're around your strength.

The quest generator could even incorporate some multiplayer aspect into it, sothe gamecould import other player's factions (NPC form) into your game.Depending on how the player acted in their game their faction may attempt to take yours over, ally itself, be destroyed etc. You could choose to launch assaults against other players, but you yourself wouldn't control them. You'd simply use a menu to pick a target then launch the attack specifying how many troops, resources, building blueprints for fortresses etc then the NPC's would vanish from your game and appear in theirs. Sortof like sending them to another country :P Could trade resources and blueprints with other players too. Could have world stats on how well your country is doing, a world map showing how large your influence is depending on your stats... All the while you never actually fight the other players directly, only the NPC army they send.

I think it would be fun.... of course we're not likely to see a game like that for quite a while.

My idea is a game based deep in the Congo. Think "Heart of Darkness" with with creatures and enemies inspired by HP Lovecraft.

It is a FPS with RPG elements (i.e. you can increase aim, rate of fire, hp, etc.). It is heavy in Lovecraft horror and horrifying or disturbing images will cause the main character to lose sanity (exactly like from Dark Corners of the Earth). The world would be similarly done like STALKER (a few large areas make up one massive section of the Congo) and is free roaming. You would have an area that is a smaller easier section, basically the introduction camp when you first land in the Congo (via boat). And it would go all the way up to a temple of white humanoid ape men who worship Cthulhu and other Old Gods. Also certain sections will have Cthulhu Cult camps and certain NPCs you can interact with secretly worship the Old Gods.

It would be set in the late 1800s early 1900s. Of course it would have authentic weapons for the time (no machine guns or lasers). You would also be able to use Cthulhu relics that would either boost stats or perform some kind of damaging action.

Time would have an affect on game play. An example is between certain dates in March and April certain NPCs will become crazed or disclose "information of an intersting or disturbing kind." You would also see references or even characters from the Lovecraft stories (such as members or stories for the Jermyn family. Even creatures from West the Animator.).

The main character is an ex-military man who becomes an author. He comes to the Congo in search of details about the Jermyn family's discoveries and soon gets caught up in the evil surrounding the Old Gods. Of course, as anyone who follows the Lovecraft stories. You don't stay sane when you learn of the Old Ones.

Hoodoo would also play a small role in the game. Mostly evident in the "civilized" camps where explorers and their guides reside.

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents."

This is the first time I have written down or elaborated at all on this game idea of mine :P
Though I have 3 other ideas I have written down and elaborated upon on my PC.
A lot of the ideas above were done in STALKER I know but I promise you, I only got the "Congo broken up into sections" idea from that game.

I guess I'm not the first one here to suggest an MMOFPS, and I'm thinking this might sound to much like Planetscape, but I'm envisioning a massive/persistent FPS world similar to Huxley, but on a much greater scale, and with no NPC's to speak of...just one enormous battlefield with thousands of players including objectives requiring the teamwork of hundreds of players that have profound effects on the world you're playing in. Levelling wouldn't effect stats, but you would be able to buy upgraded weapons, armor, and vehicles, and your level would coincide with your rank, giving you more control over the battlefield, a la BF2, where squad leaders and the commander have some recon options and an assumed title of leadership. So now, you have a game where levelling actually gives you a lot more control instead of just linearly making a damage calculation go up, and it's as much a competition to retain your rank as it is to help or lead your faction to victory. I guess, as an incentive to complete objectives, you'd earn battle decorations/commendations that provide certain benefits, like promotions or subtle improvements in stamina or the ROF of your weapon.

My dream game would be a game with a really deep storyline that keeps coming at you with twists and turns (something futuristic like too human or something that you can lose yourself in and totally belive......ala star wars).......there must be a lot of action that is intense and satisfying (like CoD)......there has to be a lot of weapons to choose from(guns, sword, axes, hammers...nothing too old though)and they must all be unique and interesting to play with and they must be futurisied (like Chrome 2 and Alliance).....there has to be vehicles (like frontlines).....cusomization has to be there to make some unique weapons for multiplayer (Hellgate London).......different places (moutains, forest, desert, warehouse, cities etc....Bioshock + Haze)......some shallow rpg elements like in bioshock or stalker...........some 3rd person battles would be cool where you'd fight like arcade games where you can pull of some awesome moves and combos depending on what weapon you have.....like in dbz would also be awesome......oh and also the ability to absorb diffenrent forms like of aliens like in Ben 10and use them in the 3rd person battles (I love that show!!!!!!!!)

all this wrapped up into an awesome trilogy of shooters.......

Basically it's:
Assassin's creed + Alliance the Silent War + Bioshock + CoD 4 + Chrome 2 + Crysis + Draon Age + Frontlines Fuels of War + Haze + Hellgate London + Interstellar Marines + Timeshift + Too Human + Mass Effect + Hostile Waters Antaeus Rising + Star Wars Republic Commando + S.T.A.L.K.E.R + Ben 10..............

This Would all be wrapped up into a a mixture of the CryEngine 2 and UE3 to make a very pretty game with lots of destructibility -without being able to deform land!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this'll probably never happen but a guy can dream can't he

I'd like to see some sort of zombie survival MMOFPS/TPS, with a little bit character development, in a big metropolis... actually Dead Rising as a multiplayer would be a nice start too. :P
