Is it? It's an i7 with BluRay and GT480M, with 4 USB 3.0 Ports. Also in micro format. It's crazy expensive.

Mobile graphics card? Damn, this thing just failed right out of the gate.jer_1Can you get a gaming card to fit in that little case?
Amiga and IBM PC were enemies once btw :P
Amiga pretty much obliterated the DOS PC in graphics and sound untill (S)VGA video cards and Sound Blasters came out for the PC. Afterwards the PC dominated home computers. It didn't help Commodore went bankrupt in 1994 either. Just a little trivia.

With the 2700k and a GT 430 it costs $1855.
To be fair this isn't really an Amiga it's just a PC with the Amiga name slapped on it. I have lost count of the number of times I have seen this happening with the Amiga name. I loved the Amiga, owned 3 of them but even I have to admit it's time is long since past now it is time to let it rest in peace.
on engadget if u read the comments you can buy all the components yourself even the case for less than 1200$http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/21/commodore-amiga-mini-pc-revealed-core-i7-16gb-of-ram-and-an-op/

Agreed, it's just a glorified PC runing Linux in a mobile platform. You're paying big bucks for the name and probably not worth it. The original Amiga was great at the time, my dad had one when I was little and I still remember playing Defender of the Crown religiously. Unfortunately this is just a name and not a true Amiga that it was back in it's prime.

Defender of the crown rocks! They've done a remake on PC, but that wasn't nearly as fun as the original. Loved that game as a kid. First I played it on C64 and later on Amiga... man, what an improvement that was!
The Amiga did quite well in the late '80s and early '90sthe article
quite well? in the days post commodore 64 where i grew up in manchester just about everyone i knew had an amiga back then, or an atari st but they weren't as common.

agreed. i have some wonderful memories from that era but this new incarnation holds zero appeal to me
