Does running Sunwell on WoW count as completion? If it does, then 4 years :P (been playing since game came out).

Since WoW doesn't have those things, then I will go with Oblivion since the main quest is technically the campaign. After playing around with side quests guild quests and running random dungeions I will have to say 7 months.

Simcity 2000. Actually, I don't recall finishing it (or if there was an actual ending to the game) but I sure did spend a lot of time on it.

probably Fable TLC, I mostly play FPS and RTS, but usually don't finish the RTS games

I played oblivion for 50+ hours and completed all the side quests, but never finished the boring repetative main quest. I mean all the oblivion levels were identical.

I always play on very hard... However I haven't played Rome Total War. Every game in the Command and Conquer series didn't take me that long...

War in the Pacific. I played as the Japanese. Played about 1-2 hours a day and 2-4 on weekends. One campaign took almost a year to finish.

Oblivion was one of the shorter games I completed. Took 1 day. :P

Longest game for me to complete was...uhh...probably Baldurs Gate or some Final Fantasy game.

Did you spend useless hours making sure you ran every single cave in the game and did every single quest and maxing up every skill before completing the main quest? Not to mention endless hours just riding around on my dark brotherhood red eyed horse. Nope, didn't think so. :P

I played the first couple of levels in the original Doom back in 1993 in the demo ("shareware") and didn't get around to playing the entire game until February 2008.

Well I played Oblivion for the 360 from january to summer non stop and play it from time to time , bought it now for the PC. Passed all guilds including Arena, beat shivering isle, wandered around every town countless times , had multi characters one for almost each type , a battlemage , thief/assassin, etc , most level 20+. Never finished the campaign go to the aid for Bruma and now need to go to a Aylied Ruin to get a stone or something.

Wait what? It has like 4 tracks. How can that game take you long to finish? And more importantly: Why did you ever bother playing that lame excuse for a game?? It's not even worth pirating...

well, being mainly an FPS fan, i've probably not spent as much time on a game as those playing RTS and full RPG games, but the original UT took me a long time to get through the single player campaign, at quite a high level. After that it's probably STALKER, where i really took my time and did all the side missions etc. Also the beauty of the game is that even when you've got to the end of the story you can go back and play various scenarios, eg i took out the various bases etc, including the Duty one

FF VII. My first run through the game was over 100 hours, but I couldn't tell for sure. The game's clock capped out at 99:99 if I remember correctly. I easily played double that though by starting new games. One game I completed everything, maxed out all the materia, obtained all master materia for 3 party memembers and other stuff that would essentially equal 100% completion within 30 hours. That's pretty fast for an FF game.
