Good, I would assume. Phenom II's are fine for gaming, so unless they somehow take a step back, Bulldozer should be great.

According to a leak from early January (probably fake, but had no benchies) 50% faster than the i7 950, so about 30-40% faster than the SB cpu line up. So, if true. Pretty good. :)

How are they up against the SB's though? I'd like to know. :)

I have spoken to AMD and I was told that to begin with its going to be aimed at server & workstation systems. Not sure if it will provide much benefit for gaming though as more threads does not equal more FPS.

Anyway, I look forward to the reviews :) Go AMD!

PS: As they are keeping the Phenom II brand going DONT expect Bulldozer CPU's to be cheap, they will 100% NOT bring them out at a cheap price and destroy their own lineup. So for now expect Phenom II for gamers (great price/performance) and Bulldozer for enthusiasts & professionals (premium).

Like i said. If true around 30% faster. But it was leaked and you know what that means :P Also, i doubt it will be better for long (if at all), since looking at the architecture, the single core performance won't be its shining light.

I've heard SB is only about 6% faster than the 980x , and 950 only about 15% slower than that. So its a REALLY ROUGH ESTIMATE but yeah :P @Daytona, define expensive, we talking 980x, 970 or 950/920 from the 1st gen i7 pricing?

No idea, if i was to take a guess I would speculate it being in the i7 1366 price catagory. Like I said, Phenom II is not going away anytime soon and they cant keep reducing prices. So obviously Bulldozer will have to sit at a higher price point.

I hope AMD gets a smash hit. I am tired of Intel's price gouging.

The 2500k was released at a VERY competitive price! Also for gaming it is THE best CPU. I dont mind if Intel charge a premium price for 1366 CPU's as they are aimed more at workstations & Professionals, no NEED for gamers to get these as tripple channel RAM & hyper threading offer no benefit over 1155 CPU's.

As long as they still have the £150 mobos to match intel £250 then it'll be fine.

Otherwise. FX platform usually = Performance , whether its Price/performance we will have to wait and see.

AMD has stated that the single threaded IPC will be higher than current AMD processors.

From what I have been told Phenom II isn't going anywhere this year.

I will believe it when I see it for the increased performance over SB, I am also very interested to see the overclockability of the CPUs as well.
