So I was wondering...what will be the next quality multiplayer FPS on the PC???
I love a bit of Quake Wars and of course COD but have we got coming that you can't wait for??? I'm pretty intrigued with Section 8...

While I'm content with CS:S, this.
exactly. In terms of a game toppling the current king, which is probably still CS 1.6 in terms of people playing, then it might not happen for a looong time. Modern Warfare 2 is going to be the next FPS to be released that's going to have tons of players though as it will probably take players from COD4, COD:WAW, and maybe even the older games in the series.
I just want a real gorey online shooter, dismembermant, heads flying off, the works!V4LENT1NE
Timeshift, but almost nobody plays it... The multiplayer was designed by Russia's UT2k4 champion. It's quite amazing. There are 40 features you can tweak and 6 game modes.
There's a multiplayer demo, maybe more people play that one.
I think SWAT 5...that game is highly overlooked but has a superb addictive multiplayer component. I was literally playing that game 15 hours a day. But I doubt the demand for a it is mass enough, so I wont hold my breath! So I was wondering...what will be the next quality multiplayer FPS on the PC???

Stop saying BF3, it's either BF 1943 or BF BAD COMPANY.
And MODERN WARFARE 2, people.

Because neither of those are battlefield 3?
1943 - Downloadable only. Small scale. 3 classes. 24 players. Only a few maps.
BF Bad Company- Port of an Xbox game. 24 players.
Battlefield is known for it's huge maps with huge player support. I don't consider 24players a battlefield game by any definition. Hell, BF1942 (the first battlefield game) support 64 players. Why they would cut it down to 24 is beyond me...
That's a definite buy for me, but I just don't see the popularity there. It'll be damn good, that's for sure. But king of nothing, sadly.Red Orchestra 2 if it ever comes to be.

BF3 def. even though i don't play bf2 anymore(my pc won't play it for some reason tried 3 diff. copies) to me its still the best fps wargame out there. MW2 will be good but unless they add huge maps and a variety of vehicles it won't add up to what the bf series has to offer, also i hate the airstrikes and chopper support in mw hopefully they change that.

Either Modern Warfare 2 or Battlefield 3.
Battlefield 2 is still a lot strong; if you see the statistics in gamespy stats and xfire both COD 4 / 2, CS and BF2 / 2142 are very popular.
The good thing about MW 2 is that it can improve in some elements of the gameplay: different modes of fire to the weapons, squad leader and respawn as in BF2, vehicles... But to me BF 2 is still best shooter overall. I love too Quake Wars for the deep of the teamwork, UT III for the skill required and Crysis Wars because the feelings and landscapes, but the learning curve of this ones are hard to casual players.
