The only thing i hate about TF2 (most snipers will agree)...

Is snipers that only target other snipers. The mark of a crappy sniper is one that just peeks his head out looking for other snipers on maps like two fort. It turns matches when you're a sniper into just back and forth sniping each other and adds nothing to support your team. Turns matches into borefests.

A good sniper is prelevant in taking out other targets whether they be storming across the bridge or firing rockers from their bases safe comfort. Theres nothing like popping a few heads of scouts or any class thats on the move towards your base. Mid stride, its like they dont even know what hit 'em. A real sniper can take out any threatening moving target rather than just other snipers as sitting ducks.

I agree. taking them out is fine, but getting on a server where all that happens is you and other snipers battling is retarded. i know what youre saying but i was referring to the snipers whos kills are like 100% other snipers

I really think that is a problem of the map.. 2fort is a really bad map in my opinion with really only at best 3 areas to snipe.

yeah its my favorite map but not the best to snipe on. sniper is my main class though but i just realized tonight how sick i was of getting on a game where all that happens is snipers killing each other. its like they only peak out to look for other snipers. not once did i see a kill that wasnt me or my 2 fellow sniper teammates.

interesting, because i know in the servers that i play (2fort exclusive), the good snipers tend to move around quite a bit. there's the sewer entrance where they can keep the opposing team at bay for a while. there's the base entrance in which the sniper can come in handy when dealing with camping demos or taking out engineers so they can't sit on their sentries and repair them. and of course, once you deal with an opposing sniper, you can support your team for 20-30 seconds. and there's no one more effective (besides the demo) in playing defense against heavy (or other offensive class)/medic combo or in defending the intelligence at one of the two basement exits. i personally think that 2fort is a great map for good snipers to effectively support the team.

alot of the servers i play have auto respawn which i dont like really. ive only seen a few games wehre snipers move around. im one of them unless my team is on the defensive. usually i play demoman or spy if i want to do offense

They don't participate in "sniper pockets". Basically, if a sniper sees you for more than 2 seconds you will die. The only way other clans get through these snipers is by counter-sniping or losing half of their team getting around a single corner to drive the sniper off, then they fortify until the dead mates respawn and rejoin them. They need *some* kinda of counter other than snipers.

what about spies?

I don't see what the problem is to be honest, I don't want to call myself a good sniper, but in reality I'm better than a 90% of the snipers I've come across while playing the game.

A good sniper is THE most dominating class in the entire game. For instance a good sniper can hold down the last stretch of the final section of Dustbowl, as well as Gold Rush all by himself. However he draws a lot of attention, I've seen players get completely fed up with me and just go sniper in order to deal with me, at that point it becomes more of, me trying to survive, meaning my priority has shifted from going after everyone, to going after snipers then every one. The moment I see another one, is the moment I keep myself at all times fixed on his presence, because I know that if I focus on some where else, it could be the perfect oppertunity for him to pop out and shoot me.

A lot of the times as well they tend to use these rather cheap tactics, like peeking with just their head showing, or running for cover every time they miss. It's all in the job, but I'm not a fan of sniper duels because it just means I have to deal with one guy who's becoming a pain in my ass, and don't even get me started when it comes to a good sniper duel, those things get far too heated.
