I take out story since not all games have them.
Castles II: Seige and Conquest
Wing Commander: Privateer, Doom, Master of Orion, Simcity 2000 (all 1993 :O )
Master of Orion II
Simcity 3000, Homeworld
Freelancer, Rise of Nations, Star Wars: KOTOR, Star Wars: Jed Academy, Homeworld II (all 2003 :O )
The Sims 2 (I played the original as well)
Guild Wars
Oblivion (massively modded), Galactic Civilizations II
Max Payne 1 + 2, Half-Life and Thief games. Who agree with me!!
biggest_loser
They're all young people's games! :)
The perfect game is such a big call. At the time - Medal of Honor.
I can't think of anything wrong with Company of Heroes, HL2, Trackmania, Portal.
oh yeah space invaders, pac man, pole position, super monaco grand prix, dragon's Lair.
Jasper:
lol, ahhh we meet again.
Yes well ahem....I do agree with you sir on MOH - such a polished game, bar the ending. I don't know what has happened to that series. EA games, fair dinkum. Anywho it must have been difficult though for you to see those memories recreated in a video game.
The best game on every level? XCOM: UFO Defense. A perfect blend of strategy, action and RPG.
Anybody agree?

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Half-Life 2 - that is all.
Well i hate to say it but for me its not a PC game, although i think they did do a PC version. Final Fantasy VII. This game for me is the greatest game ever made. Great story, good graphics etc etc. Frozzik
Get out
it's pretty simple :)
max payne series, hitman series, sims 2 and the best: GTA!!
TheRealSHAYMAN
Which GTA? If you say San Andreas you will receive a similar message to the last one I posted. Ableit with more four letter words and something about reenacting a human sacrifice scene akeen to the one in Apocalypto.
None... So far but I guess I'd choose SC series except from DA.Adversary16
Yes. I dont think the public is going to let that one go!
Hey check out the thread entitled "BF3 and BF: BC" - I have discovered and discussed two new games you will surely like !!
No games Ive been absolutely perfect in my book. Bioshock came really close in being my first perfect game.Jd1680a

Are you watching this thread just so you can tell people their subjective opinion is wrong?
Yes. I dont think the public is going to let that one go!Hey check out the thread entitled "BF3 and BF: BC" - I have discovered and discussed two new games you will surely like !!biggest_loser
Aye! Thanks!
StarCraft, Hitman series, Half Life series and Thief series have a good story !?
The Witcher also has flaws (bugs, not very good voice acting, not very good cutscenes)
The Sims 2 is in no way perfect
Oblivion !!!!??
FF7 ? That game is no way perfect (the combat system sucks, not a real RPG, NO VOICE ACTING!)
Anyway, I've never played a perfect game (I've never given a game 10/10), there's always something missing
My all time favourite game is Metal Gear Solid, but even that game isn't perfect
SW KOTOR is my all time favourite PC game, but that game isn't perfect too
Mass Effect should have been perfect and is best RPG ever made IMO, but has bugs and a few flaws
And biggest_loser, you have your opinions and others have other opinions, each has a different taste, there is no right or wrong, that's what these forums are all about, so please stop telling people to get out or hide
None of the games that have been said in this topic are perfect (I'm a very tough critic). . .

Aren't you doing the same thing you're accusing biggest_loser? "Perfect" is a relative term. What may be perfect to one person of course can't be perfect to everyone. Yet, you felt the need to reject many people's notions here that the games they listed are perfect.
Id say Half-Life 2 and System Shock 2. Hl2 was just a perfect blend of varied gameplay and very good pacing. The story might not be all that original, but the storytelling is amazing and the characters are interesting and imo this what makes the story good. Sure i has some flaws (mainly shooting) but the rest of the game just compensates.
System Shock 2 now. The story was amazing, the gameplaywas just perfect too, aside from shooting. I dont know about the graphics, since i didnt play it when it was released. The sound effects werent ground breaking technical-wise but how they used it was perfect. The voices of the hybrids had this distortion that made them very scary, same for The Many. Shodan was brilliant too.

What I said is just MY OPINION and I never told anyone to get out
well by those standards i would have to name ALOT of games
no games have achieved perfection, and not too many have come close
i would have to say hl2 over all, but according to your standards i could say perfect dark, crysis, maxpayne series, bioshock, resident evil 4, metroid prime, halo1+3 etc etc

 That was funny
Not a PC game, but Ocarina of Time. For PC probably Red Alert 2 or Starcraft

mmarsh1972
I do. I agree that it is, or was, a perfect blend of what you said. But I don't know what I'd pick as the perfect game. I'd hate to spill out some names only to find myself thinking about other games later.:x
With me.....I don't think any game has been absolutly perfect. There are many that have come close though :)
James Bond 007: Nightfire--It didn't get that good of a score on here, but I'll have to admit the story was engaging and I felt the graphics were pretty good (I'm a die-hard 007 fan BTW). Could've made a good 007 movie.
Star Trek: Elite Force II--Improved graphics & a better story = awesome replay value. At some points I felt like the gameplay was cinematic almost.
Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, Athena Sword, Lockdown--Although the stories haven't always been that original.....graphics & gameplay have been second to none.
Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, San Andreas--Self Explanatory. ;)
Star Trek: Bridge Commander--Another good story for a Star Trek title.....the graphics aren't all that but due to the extreme moddibility (visit BCFiles.com), this is easily rectified ;)
I'd have to say..
Halflife 1 and 2, Crysis.. (good because of amazing everything) Far Cry, Call of Duty! OH and of Course Golden eye!
Riven is the only game I've ever played that was perfect in every single aspect.JP_Russell
hah, that's weird, after my previous post I was going to post again with Riven! and you've got a similar name to me. But I'm an athiest.
