I've been using VIsta x64 for about a week now and didnt get any big issues, the thing is if you have like the Ultimate version like i do, you really to look up in your msconfig the services that boot with windows that are not usefull and just eat all your memory for nothing.
An other thing that i didnt like would be the fat that you dont have full admin rights after installing vista even if your user account says that you are an admin on it. Microsoft thought it would be a good idea to proctect the average user by putting some restriction on program installation policies that would prevent a user from installing a bad software. You need put in a command in command prompt to get full admin rights, wich not all poeple know about, i had to find out by myself (not hard for me but maybe for some).
Other then those issues, i like it a lot now that its pretty much compatible with any drivers on programs (i use to hate it).
Dont listen to the haters,,they are idiots.
64Bit XP was dodgy because nobody took notice of it, but 64-Bit Vista is brilliant! I have been using it for over a year now and iam extremely happy with it :)
[QUOTE="moshakirby18"]Hello everyone, I'm fairly surprised there isn't a sticky about 64 bit stuff but hey-ho.
So what kind of problems will I have with a 64bit OS?
Will it still be able to play 32bit games and apps?
I really have no idea what I will and wont be able to do, so lay it on me!
SEANMCAD
Something to consider, Vista had the largest testing project of any software ever in history. If by chance that is not true, try to think what software product might have been tested more then Vista.
Also, Vista is the code base for Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft will go under if their server OS is not extreemly stable.
Something to think about.
LOL, Microsoft CANT go under with the amount of money they have!
Thats cool. I heard that it used to be really bollocks in 2006, but now in 2008 it's pretty much the same as 32 bit stuff except with the added option of 64bit compatabilitymoshakirby18
you brits and your silly slang, LOL... I learned that word from Gordon Ramsey on BBC!
