What was yours scariest moment in game ???

... seeing Braid rack up scores in the low 90's.
Too many people in the gaming business are pure business people and don't care much for games, but only look at the numbers. What I want is Mass Effect 2, or Dragon Age, or more Fallout 3 DLC.
What I don't want is a plethora of Braids being thrown at me.
It's an interesting game, but it's not what I'm passionate about. And I don't care if I'm supposed to 'put the score into context', I don't like seeing a game like that outscore a game like Mass Effect. That's just plain silly.
The locker scene from Condemned.
As with all horror moments, it's much scarier in-game, as it's so unexpected.
This. If only the rest of the game wasn't so mediocre. The locker scene from Condemned.

And also many moments from the Thief games. And that level in Bioshock where you have to investigate the room with Ryan's dead mistress.
First off, this has NOTHING to do with the current topic... Secondly, Braid was an amazing game, and guess what: you're getting all of those things TOO! If you're going to rant about this: START A NEW THREAD.... seeing Braid rack up scores in the low 90's.

Silent Hill 3. There is a part I can't get past, it is near or inside a church, I think, I haven't played in a while. As you walk down this hall somewhere in this disgusting church with catwalk and grime covered walls with chain link fence, your radio goes off (meaning a creature is nearby) and at this part (I always have low health here) something comes out and kills me, no matter how ready I am it always does. I get killed, and then there is a cinematic of some man/thing that grabs you by the ankle, and drags you down the hall into the darkness. Freakin' crazy.

To be honest, it's a valid answer to the question at hand. A little bit of lateral thinking on CD's part, I might add.
For me, it was when EA started gobbling up and homogenizing their studios (Westwood, Origin, Janes, Bullfrog, etc...).
But, in the spiritual sense of the question: it's a two-way tie between 1) the human campaign in Alien vs. Predator 2, and 2) the entirety of Clive Barker's Undying.
Hmmm...in PC games?
There was the first appearance of the Skaarj in the original Unreal. I think you hit a switch or something, suddenly the lights systematically turned off, any escape was barred, and you were face-to-face in close quarters with a nasty Skaarj!
Level 2 in the original Diablo, opening the door and watching The Butcher run out saying "fresh meat!" as he hacked at you with his magic cleaver.
Level 3 or 4 in the original Tomb Raider, after killing a couple Raptors and moving towards the cave, the ground rumbles and out comes a T-Rex! Only 1 way to escape and if you don't know it, Lara is history!
Great. I bought the penumbra pack on steam. I was hoping those weren't cheesy.Penumbra:Black Plague.
The entire game scares meNibroc420
