I just played the sims 2 for about 3 hours, my guy was promoted to the highest promotion and I was making tons of cash from my business. Living the good life, about to build a new house, my sim dies of old age. Now what the #%$* am I suppose to do. Last time I checked people live for more then 200 days before they die of old age. So now do I lose all my money or can I give it to someone?

Well you can make a family, and earn enough for them to buy the property of the dead guy.

The idea is to make a family and keep going for generations and generations.

You could just turn off the aging process, or if i remember correctly theres a drink you can buy that will keep your sim young.

Doesn't it ask you if you want to enter the next stage of life?

Also to fulfill your Sims life you're supposed to get him a wife and have children, grand children, great grandchildren etc...

And just repeat that over and over.

It's a boring game.

Yeah theres that green drink thing that is shaped like an hour glass that makes people young and you can basically keep them alive forever like that.

What if you want to be single for life? Cant he just play a bachelor the whole time?

I mean, I know he has to die sometime but not 3 hours into the game.

He probably started out with a really old guy. But yeah, I'd say the Hugh Heffner lifestyle should be an optional path to self-fulfillment.

Just play The Sims 3 which will be more advanced and will let you decide how many days you want your sim to live. But it wouldn't be too much fun if the sims lived a real time life. It would take years for them to grow up! As someone mentioned before they are just a preparation and simulation for real life.

Well... there is indeed a "green potion thingy" that makes you 3 younger perdrink w/ 3-4 drinks, you can buyit with the (i dont remember really well) desire points you get, search for the various things you can buy , its either 15k 20k or 30k points worth, lol. oh and be sure you are in "gold charisma" or whatever if not its going to take days from you instead of giving you. Where you buy it its not inside the shopping menus, is during the "living" phase i think its near the various status bars (hungry, sleep). ROFL Im sorry if my description is so raw but its been ages since i last played it. I hope it helps.

is it just me or is this almost a description of a hardcore mmo character (replace "hours" by "years")? except for the part about dying of old age, ofcourse.
