For somereason everytime I play The Sims 2 PCgame and if I' am in a home or viewing the town where the grass area suppose to be green it's black and then all of the sudden it would be green again. Then if I' am playing in a lot with the sims I get the weird skin texture like the fridge texture or hair or just black background on the grass area. Does anyone know how to fix this? It seems like there is some flickering problem since when it flickers then this happens and then if it flickers again it's gone and back to normal. It doesn't flicker all the time but couple times it does.

I do have the latest drivers from Sony and Windows updates from Microsoft for my laptop.

This is the only game I have this problem other games work fine. This is an old 2004 game btw. I did also use the latest patch for the game.

My system specs are on my sig.

There are wide range of problems that would occur with those intel HD adapters, like corrupted, flickering textures. Nonetheless, have you tried re-installing your game? You should also check whether your RAM is or is not faulty and the fragmentation level of you hard drive.

I did couple days agao use Vaio Care and did a system clean up and also did the one click care thing so it did do the defrag and also disk clean up and even reg clean and defrag. Also I have tried to even recover the computer like new again and reinstall all of my games and programs and update the drivers and windows updates again but still this game has that problem. I have the base game of The Sims 2 PC game. No other expansion packs are installed. I got all my drivers from Sony esupport website and also my Vaio update program lets me know when there is an update for softwares and drivers. Basicly my computer is up to date but still have this problem on just one game.

I actualy wonder if it's the game itself is the problem but all I know is that when I play this game on a different computer I don't have this problem. Maybe the base game isn't as updated as the ones that have expansion packs like The Sims 2 Deluxe or Double Deluxe I don't know though.

Here are a pic of the game when it'shaving the problem. Basicly you see the skin texture repeating and some other textures too. Sometimes on the grass area it's just black but in the house everything looks normal.

This is something that cannot be specified as a hardware problem of any kind. I think there's something wrong with either the install folder or sims 2 cd.

So this is not my computer? So probley the CD is damaged somewhere and it doesn't install right? I don't have any mayjor scraches only few minor scraches since I got this game used at Goodwill. But I mean seriously the scraches are almost not there only the main disk has minor scraches and other 3 don't have any. But do you really think it's my CDs that is having the problem? I remember someone said they had this problem but not many have this problem. Well I do have another The Sims 2 game called The Sims 2 Deluxe game and I can try using that game instead and see if it happens again. If it does I don't know what to do then.

This is something I have not seen, but it really does not look like a hardware fault.

Could it be possible a driver fault? just wondering. I do have the latest drivers from Sony esupport website so I' am up to date. I also did download the latest updates from Microsoft for my Windows 7 OS. I always check on Sonys website to see if any updates are there and also check on Vaio update program to search for the latest drivers. But I don't know what could be the real reason it is it might be actualy the CDs are bad.

If anyone knows about this I would truely appreciate it if you can help. I did e-mail a game advisor from EA to help so maybe they can help. But maybe someone here knows what the problem is.

Here's another pic when the background is black and everything else looks normal. It's suppose to have grass.

Most of the time my game looks normal like this and the grass is there but couple of times it does that skin texture problem.
