The Star Wars Theme is getting Tired . .

Never thought I'd ever say something like that, Since Ive been an Enourmous Star Wars Fan Since Birth, but recently thats how I've been feeling about a lot of the Upcoming Star Wars titled Games.

It must be due to My disappointment from the Last 3 movies, and I havnt Played a Decent Star Wars Game since Jedi Oucast and KOTOR .

Force Unleashed was okay - but thats all I feel is worth describing it. The second Chapter I feel, may be just more of the Same.

The New MMO seems like it Might be worth taking a look at - but if its anything like Galaxies - Then I think I'll be done with Star Wars forever.

Any of you beginning to feel the same way? That the Star Wars franchise is starting to get Worn out ?

TBH, I think the MMO isn't needed, KOTOR3 would of suited me happily, TFU is nice, I had fun with it, the second one is a day one buy for me. The best movie was number IV, IMO, I agree that Star wars is running thin on ideas/wearing themselves out.

Well I am both a star wars fan in games as well as the lore so no even if all the star wars games turn out to be horrible I will still read the books and stuff unless of course that is ruined too.

How many Star Wars games have there been since KOTOR? I'm thinking only 2. Just don't play the crummy games and then you shouldn't get burned out on Star Wars games.guynamedbilly

Just looked up Star wars Titles - on the PC alone, there are over 50 titles for the PC. That doesnt even count for the Wii, Playstation 1 & 2, Xbox etc . .

Not Quite as Bad as Star Trek - but getting Extremely close.

The Star Wars theme will never get tired. Having said that, I agree, Star Wars games need to stop taking the cheap route out and using John William's score, often to lousy result. Score your own damn music. KOTOR had a fantastic score.

Oh - and I personally Feel that teh Sabers in Either Game are completely different. As i recently Posted, In Jedi Outcast - U could choose a First Person view that gave a much more Realistic feel of weilding the Lightsaber, Unlike TFU where u watched the back of StarGoobers Head the entire Game.

I want to see what happens after apisode 6, not before 4! The rebuilding of a republic, the formation of the jedi and chasing down the remanants of the empire. There has to be a good story to squeeze out of that. We have seen loads of the clone wars, and even more pre-clone wars stories.

TFU would of been a much better game IF
- The made the lightsaber more powerfull, and not a baton out of Futurama. (Metal Gear Solid: Rising has more slicing than TFU)
- The controls were easier,I could just never get things to go in the right direction or target the right thing. It was all very clunky.

The stroy of TFU was better than any recent film by a long way though, so that kept me playing.

About that TFU/JK discussion:

I don't know if you have played much, but in JK you can do a lot more moves, change saber styles, freedom of force powers(you can combine), freedom of saber swinging. While TFU is just consolised, hit a bunch of buttons in a correct order and make a combo.And TFU was pretty easy overall. I don't know if you've played multiplayer, but I currently am and you'd be suprised how much skill it takes.

Now, I'm not saying TFU is bad, in fact it's good(besides being a crappy port), but it's just no match for a JK game.

I wonder how JK with a new engine and physics will look like, but I guess we'll never know :P

Battlefront 3 would make me happy but as of now it's MIA

There is this , but looking at the website it's only gonna be on PS3 and PSP. Talk about fail.

Well I'm not sure if they're still developing it or not but Star Wars Battlefront III may be coming out and a year ago, gameplay footage was leaked, although Free Radical lost the rights to develop it now, so I'm not sure if it'll come out or not.

And yes, we need a new f***ing Jedi Knights game, it's been too damn long. Force Unleashed does not justify that.

Yes, but ToR will make it awesome again. The new movies are beyond bad, possibly the worst failures in movie making history.

The only Star Wars let down I have had was really the forced unleashed... (and galaxies but I didn't get to try it until like a year or so ago)

I still love me some Star Wars.. I am really looking forward to The Old Republic, its the MMO I am looking forward to most, along with the Secret World, and Torchlight.

It's not so much as i'm getting tired of Star Wars but in my case, it's mainly that they are releasing games that i simply don't give much of a rats ass about. Give me a KOTOR game in Mass Effect style graphics anyday or better yet, give me a Battlefront 3 game using the same engine that the Force Unleashed game uses.

I just re-subbed Galaxies about a month or two ago and I'm having a blast again in it. Yeah it really doesn't fit in the time line anymore, yeah the NGE ruined quite a bit but they have made some effort by providing a lot of high end group content that really wasn't there in the beginning days outside of the Deathwatch Bunker to camp for jetpack parts.

All the people thinking The Old Republic is going to replace the Galaxies are going to be very disappointed at Galaxies still relies heavily on the community to play there game. You really can't solo much like you used to be able too and all the crafting that goes on in that game still destroys any game out there that tries to have a complex system.

No, I don't think the THEME is getting tired, it's just that the games these days suck. Jedi Outcast is one of those pinnacles of gaming for me.. it was just so.. amazing. KotOR was right up there as well. TFU wasn't very entertaining at all, and the new MMO looks terrible. It might be worth checking out for the co-op style gameplay mode and such, but its generic MMO combat down to a T. You have your tank, off-tank, healer, DPS. I was thinkin they could have at least tried something NEW with the Star Wars franchise, and Bioware was the last company I was expecting to use the same tired old MMO mechanics.
