He means that you better use a new sandy bridge CPU instead of the i7 you listed above. Do the sandy bridge's fit the LGA 1336 slot? Nope... they use another slot

Get only 8 GB ram and save some cash and you want to go dual channel since 12 implies triple channel memory, there are the same exact version of memory with 8Gb , although for gaming 4 is plentifull, the reason is that sandy bridge goes on dual channel memory 8)
if you're purely using this build for gaming the 2500k will be fine for you, it will save you $100. Your mobo is good but I wouldn't buy any more than 4GB of ram, as its pointless really.
