Vista is already very good, there are some coding that needs to be ironed out. Beside that, it's very good for anything including media editing, gaming, website surfing, etc.
SuperFetch is the Bomb-diggity.
Software and driver incompatibility is the Bomb-suckity.

You really dont make any sense, you know that, right?
Highs: Appearance, DX10, Games Explorer
Lows: Security, system hog, folder orginization system

You kidding right?
Security on Vista is good as Mac's security. Ever since I got my Vista during the summer, I've been virus-free.

That's cuz Vista uses a new code base than other Windows (NT-based and 95-ME), and over on top of that it's still pretty new (most users still use XP). I won't be suprised if in two years (mid 2009 when XP desktop support ends) that Vista users start complaining about spyware and viruses.
Mac OSX uses UNIX code, making old Mac viruses unusable on the new codebase...
Highs: Interface is similar throughout (except Office 07), DX10 and fast startup
Lows: resource hog, incompability with older drivers and software (Fable, BF2, etc.)

There will always be viruses and malware because some people have nothing better to do. UAC will help a lot since nothign can access system files without permission.
Pros -
Cool Interface

Everything else.

Erm no. Sure it may take some time to get used to the new system but that generally the same with all of the new windows operating systems. Just build a bridge and get over it you're going to have to eventually.
Pros.
Aero, advanced search system, pretty nice new features.
Cons.
A few good games unsupported, performance isn't up to par with XP in games, needs administrative rights for many things and it gets annoying at times.
I've been using Vista for several months now. Once a SP comes it'll be flawless. In general it's a pretty good and safe OS.

Time to get used to? It's exactly the same as XP. The only advantage is its interface. XP does everything else better.

There are alot of things Vista does that Xp cannot. A lot..
The Good:
The Bad:
That's just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are other pros/cons I'm forgetting to mention. Overall, I would say Vista is a great OS, it just needs some time to develop (SP1).

There is too much to list. Everyday I find something new like today I wanted to create a new partition from my C drive and Vista has a feature to do so while in Windows. Xp could not do it. Google if I want a list.

You can do it in XP using free software ( which I used to create a partition for Vista in the first place ). I googled and found nothing useful.

I know you can partition with software. I am not sure if there is any that can partition your system drivewhile it'sin use or delete partitions and extend your system drive all in Windows. The good partition software is not free either.
Vista's all well and good, but as a mac and windows user, I'm slightly annoyed that alot of the interface stuff is like mac os x and windows xp combined into something better than xp but worse than os x.
For the rest of pros and cons, pretty much what everyone else has been saying, although vista's bound to get virus issues before long.

This is interesting. I'll have to look into it so I can check out Vista but still use XP in case something does not work with Vista.
the lows of vista are the stupid bugs. The most common I've seen on my brothers laptop(As well as my own rig when I used to have vista installed) was some very weird taskbar bug that shifted all your minimized program windows to the side(So much that most of them couldn't be seen) The only way to rectify the problem was to end task on explorer.exe and then start it up again.
Oh yeah and all the stupid driver and game compatibility/performance issues.
the only way you will run into problems is with puting vista on old hardware, or using old software, usually works with old hardware, and old software, but get ready to dig up ways to make stuff work, otherwise its a great OS, recomend it to all.theshadowhunter
XP had this problem with DOS programs. Im in favor with Microsoft, someone who have a program that is 10 years ago, then thats just too bad. Microsoft wants to move on and advance Windows, they cant do that if they have to worry about old programs or hardware people still have. There really is two options, get upgraded software or buy a new computer with the latest hardware to run Vista. If people dont want to do this, then they should just stay with windows 98.
