The Witcher 2 any hope for removing nudity?

Without getting into the carnage vs nudity discussion and where our American culture is or isn't headed, I was wondering if there will be an option or a mod to eliminate nudity in the game.

An option? I doubt it; a mod? definitely no, nobody, absolutely nobody does censor mods, I've seen like 2 such mods, for FPSs mostly, games that don't even have that much violence, they were created by concerned parents that have nothing better to do than mod games to protect their children from games that are several years under the rating of the game (that's in the last 10 years).

the level of sex in the witcher (at least for the first 60% that i played :) was esentially selectable. If i chose not to indulge then fine. The Witcher 2 looks like i'll have to at least view sexually explicit material to play the main storyline of the game.

No there is no mod for this and I highly doubt it, anything is possible but this is an ADULT fantasy, the books and games are not meant for people who find a naked woman or sex revolting.

Would be nice though if modders made something like this I guess though for people who find sex really offensive. But as I said before, its rated 18+ I think, so sex shouldnt really bother people over 18 years old no? I thought most people at the age of 18+(what the game is rated) had already experienced sex and wouldnt bother them. If the game is for a younger kid though say 14 or so then yeah I guess i can understand why you would want a mod.

I know that there is a seeming contradiction between violence in a game and explicit sexuality. I'm a heathy, sexually active, father of 6 children, and find my intimate realationships are best kept that way.

I'm simply uncomfortable viewingexposed breasts etc. such as I've seen in the Witcher 2 youtube videos.

It's just as simple as that.

Fair enough bud, but I think Skyrim will have some nudity in it to (some of the past elderscrolsl games have), just a fair warning.

This is the first time I have heard of a sexually active person asking for a mod for a game that has a few **** in it though :P

Maybe try and buy the AUSSIE versino of the game? It is censored for the sex?

Racism really bothers me, not so much in videogames but in real life, so I can understand I guess if some people find sex in videogames uncomfortable.

I fully enjoyed Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, The Witcher, Dragonage: Origins, Dragonage2, Halflife 2, Crysis, Mass Effect, MAss Effect 2 and on and on and on. Each in their own way were terrifice role playing experiences for me. Not one of them pushed similar material on the player. Was it there? Of course, however I decided not thegame designer, how I would participate.

Looks to me that I won't have the choice here, and if it's true on Skyrimas well then it kooks like a favorite hobby is going to be more difficult to pursue..

Does the Austrailian version of the game eliminate the nudity entirely?

ok, social commentary and sex aside, I just dont understand how a grown man and father of six children can object to boobs. That's a lot of procreation and breastfeeding.

Not trying to be mean, I just...can't understand the objection (unless he wants his kids to play it, but frankly the sex should be the least of his worries then)

Question, do you skip out on HBO tv shows because of the nudity? Boardwalk Empire, OZ, Deadwood, Game Of Thrones,etc.. all have some nudity in them. Just curious if its just videogames you dont like nudity or is it in tv shows also?

Not for myself, however, my very nonsensical mother. If she sees nudity in a game she just flips her **** Seems I'll be forced to just alt-tab when any interesting scenes come up.

Im going to go post on the witcher2 forums and see if anyone can answer em abotu skipping the sex scenes (pressing esc).

We are just trying to help you be able to play this game bud!

Just brining up ideas that might work, most of them probably wont, but hoepfully we find a way so you can enjoy the Witcher2.

Hopefully Madcat is right and you can skip the scenes, good luck!

i would recocmend checking out GAME OF THRONES books if you liked The Witcher books! (there is also HBO show but a godo amount of nudity as it was in the books).

extremely unlikely. Most mods i've seen go out of there way to throw in more nudity. See Fallout 3 and Dragon Age 1.

I don't think the Witcher 2 is going to have a nudity toggle option, so your best bet is to skip any sex cutscenes when they pop up (and avoid selecting sex as a reward for sidequests). If you can't do that, then cover your eyes. I would honestly be more worried about your kids getting their hands on the game.

An individuals comfort level and acceptance of nudity outside themselves and relationships is certainly a personal threshold and belief, more often then not lumped into these things called moral ethics and standards while other times it's simply a personal discomfort.

There is 25% chance that somebody will make a mod to remove the nudity. And a 100% chance of it being very, very unpopular.
