From what I understand, it can't just be any save. It has to be a save from the end of the game.
If it is a save from the end of the game... then I'm not sure. Heh, I'm not a lot of help I'm afraid.
haha I had to manual save thanks guys but now i'm having launcher issues. The 5 hours i got to spend with the game were great but all these issues are really getting out of hand.
What is this launcher issue you speak of? Can you please elaborate? :) As far as I know there are two launchers that do different things. One launches with the configurator and the other launches the game straight up. The one that launches the game straight up takes quite a bit to load up and start.. which is kinda weird.haha I had to manual save thanks guys but now i'm having launcher issues. when i click play it just shows the wolf symbol and never procedes. I mean it had no issues actually launching yesterday now it just refuses to go past the wolf.
Hmmm I know what you're talking about. That's the launcher with the configurator. Go in to your bin folder and create a shortcut from the other launcher. See if that works. This one doesn't show a wolf symbol while loading up, but it does take like 10 seconds or so to start up.when i click play it just shows the wolf symbol and never procedes. I did what kozzy did as well (and the faq mentions it). You don't even need to have TW1 installed. All you need to do is make folders like so:
...>My Documents>The Witcher>saves
And place your Witcher 1 save files in the "saves" folder. Then start up TW2 and you should be able to see your files listed if you start a new game.

Good to know! Initially the game save didn't work for me but Kozzy's suggestion worked. Thank you. :D Off-topic: The Witcher 2 makes better references to the book (The Last Wish), than TW1. They even have Dandelion character model the way they described in the book, as oppose to the Dandelion we always knew from TW1. The hat, with the feather, his drinking habit, and he's more boisterous than TW1, and as he should be.Please Log In to post.
