Because there is no card on the market that can max it out. The witcher 2 is another case of Crysis, and another case of a fairly unoptimized game.

That's with the ubersampling option, it renders the game several times. Turn that off and it's not hard to max out
I've got a 6990 aswell and i'm able to max it (Everything on ultra) with the exception of "Ubersampling" - with that turned off i never dip below 50 FPS.
What does the "Ubersampling" really do anyway? To me it looked like some blurr stuff? Can't really tell a difference with it on or not.
Turn ubersampling off.

"As you'd expect, (ubersampling) is a high end option: The whole scene is rendered multiple times to give best possible texture and object details and antialiasing (better than antialias and anisotropy even on highest settings)."
A feature like that would bring even the best systems to their knees.

you are right . thanks . i turn off this ubersampling . now is good
but any one now what is ubersampling ?
and is there deffirent ? is there any effects in graphics quality

supersapmling (uber = super, different language) ~= rendering at a higher res, then smushing it down to reduce jaggedness, would possibly remove the sorta grid in the shadows too.[QUOTE="morapuler"]

Assuming "ubersampling" is just a cute name for "supersampling" used by the game, it's where the game renders each frame in a resolution several times higher than what you're actually playing it at, and then scales it back down to your chosen resolution. This more or less completely eliminates jaggies and provides amazing detail, but it also comes at an enormous performance cost since you are essentially running the game at a resolution of something like 7680x4320 (in the case of x4 SS while playing at 1920x1080).[QUOTE="Alessandro1001"][QUOTE="morapuler"]

Still way to hot for my liking and I have a good case with awesome airflow and all fans on high. FPS seemed to stay at 60 with vsync on
Is your card running hot? Not even crysis 1 heated my card up like the witcher 2 does.all set to max except for uber-sampling and ran very smooth on my gtx 580 @ 1080p . i tried turning on ubersampling many times and couldn't tell the difference at all .

I have a reference point of view gtx580 and running at 864 core 2100 mem 1.075v with 75% fan it never goes over 70c at either crysis or metro2033 or the Heaven benchamark. You should look into it abit more, this is definitely too hot for a 580.
Obviously your video card is outdated. Your only option is to buy another one and crossfire it. Do it son!
(kidding!)
Seriously though, IDK. This ubersampling thing intrigues me though...
What aspect ratio are you guys playing the game at? If you're playing in 16:10 are the black bars noticeable?

I think you meant to quote me about the 580 temps. It was late last night I think the fan was set to auto when I got those temps. Today I have fan set at 70% and it stays at about 67c, I think I forgot to hit the apply last night. lol[QUOTE="da_bomb123"]

They are on mine but you forget there there when your engrossed in the game.
I'm playing at 16:10 (1200p), and I have no black bars at all. Did da_bomb123 mean to say 16:9?[QUOTE="pelvist"][QUOTE="da_bomb123"]

Inconsistancy
Really? Well, no black bars here at 16:10. But speaking in general, I get black bars when I play Bulletstorm @ 16:9. I just don't get what you guys are referring to originally.
With that system I cant even play max with ubersampling on .... Thats my system : Processor: 2600k OC 4.7ghz Ram : 8g corsair dominator GT 2000mhz GPU : 2 x 6990 Mobo: Maximus IV extreme SSD: Vertex 3 240g alexdt256ATi's working on updating the drvier, atm you're only using 1gpu, no one, not even nvidia, is getting optimal performance atm.
Nothing broken, supersampling renders around 4x your resolution, then it averages 4 pixels into 1 pixel to bring it back to your resolution, it's extremely taxing, but it's the best looking method of aa.i want to know is the developer will fix this ubesampling ???
