I've had the game sitting on my shelf now for about 4 or 5 months and I'm finally getting around to playing it. I installed it the other day and I've been playing around on it; getting used to the controls and all that fun stuff.
The game looks pretty good....the cut scenes are a bit blocky on my 22" 1680x1050 monitor, even with AF and AA cranked all the way up. Anyways, that's not my issue.
My problem is that anywhere that I've been, light from torches can be seen through walls - stone walls. I could be at one end of the first castle area and I can see light from torches shining through two or three walls. Then sometimes if the camera angle is just right, I'll catch a torch that is behind my character shinning brightly in the lower corner of my screen or even a torch shinning up through the floor of an area below me.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix it?
Here are my specs:
The Witcher - Enhanced Version (patched to whatever patch is on the DVD; something like 1.4xxx or such)
- Vista Home Premium 64 w/ SP2
- Phenom II x4 940 (OC'ed to 3.45)
- 8GB DDR2 800
- 2x 8800GTS 512MB in SLI (driver 182.50 - I know drivers 185.xx are crap, anyone have good experience with the 186.xx with 8800series cards in SLI?)
Does The Witcher not like running with SLI? I know some games don't. I tried turning down my OC to see if that might be a problem, but nothing changed. I tried adjusting the graphic settings (I can max everything out on the game easy) down all the way, a mix of different things, but the the torch lights still shine through the walls.
Any ideas? I guess I can live with it, but it tends to distract from the gameplay a bit.
