The Witcher, help me find my saved games

Hey everyone,

I've just finished the 2nd chapter for a second time......

second time you say, yes, the first time i played the game i got to the third chapter and then suddenly my saved games where

gone from the launcher......i started over, thinking that like the idiot i am i may have deleted my saved game( i delete them all the time cause i read somewhere that if they build up they contribute to the crashes)

this time through however i know for sure i didnt accidentily delete all my saves.....

when i started the game up this morning, went through the launcher and such ......no saved games it says

; ( looked in the programs again for the game to check for saves there, being a vista user i have to go through something called Game explorer....wtf is that, never had to do that before.....and still nothing

looked in the program files and found my saved game there but I have no idea what to do with them now, how to transfer them to where they need to be so i can load a saved game and not have to go through the tutorial and outskirts mission again, having already experienced the haunted old mill twice i dont want to have to do it again....

any insight would be appreciated , im relatively new to PC gaming and was loving The Witcher until i came across this, im afraid if i dont find a fix i might not play through this again........its probably really easy.....i thought copy + paste solution but i really have no idea what to do.....

Games have been saving to the Documents and Settings Folders for quite some time. That will be on the same partition as the OS was installed in.

\Documents and Settings\ (Your Log-in name) \My documents\The Witcher\Saves

this sucks....i really dont want to start over again..

i guess i'll finally have to get into that COD 4 multi player

Ive tried that, the saved game is in the witcher/saved games file but when i go through the launcher and go to load saved game it still says No saved games .....i dont get it and its the second time its happened.....
