Firstly merry christmas people.

Now to my question When I try to launch the witcher it goes black twice then says the witcher has stopped working any ideas ?

lemme know if you want me to post my specs if you think itll help

The game works on Win7 for me so it will work on Vista. You could post some more info like what your graphics card is, and is it retail or brought off steam.

Have you installed all the latest patches for the game and updated all your sound/video drivers to the most recent ones? I got the game myself and when I still used Vista 64-bit I had the game running. I had some others problems, though: the game crashed to desktop randomly while entering or leaving loading screens when changing zones. On Windows XP 32-bit everything was fine. Regarding Windows 7: I heard they improved backwards compatibility with Windows 7 so there might be some games designed for Windows XP that run better on Windows 7 than on Vista.
