They often say that if someone hates something they are more incline to tell the world vs. expressing their positive experiences. I would like to know what the Gamespot community considers the worst games they ever played. Don't just give me a short title and that's it, I want to know WHY you hated that game and even if you refused to ever buy another product from it's company. I'm sure we can get some interesting answers going, so let 'em fly!

Rise of Nations,probably because:

The Territory System is pale in comparison to some other games.
As you make more of a certain unit,it gets more expensive and time-consuming to make.
You can't build walls :P

Star Trek Armada II

I wouldn't say I was a fan of Star trek, but the shows were not bad to watch, at least the older episodes of the ST: Voyager show. Anyway, never tried the first game but i thought hey, i like RTSs and start trek's not bad, so why not?

I hated this game because

1. all the different units of one race look identical. the only difference was size. for example , the Federation's ship classes include the Soveriegn class and the Interceptor class (or something like that) , and they both look identical, just idfferent in terms of size.

2. i felt that the whole grid line lay out really made the terrain of the game unattractive.

3. building descriptions were horrible, it was difficult to understand teh techtree.

4. the maps were boring... the only interesting featuress were the nebulae and planets that were avaiable for colonization, the rest were empty black space.

5. horrible SP

it's all i can think of, mind you this game was played 5 years ago.... :P

1. Need for speed Prostreet:-

Reason:-

Sucks like Hell. Its easily the worst game in the NFS series. Its gameplay & fun aspect is far worst than the worst PC game

2. Medal Of Honor Airborne:-

Reason:-

This stupid game can't even come close to COD4. Don't even talk about this game. I mean can 1 man turn the tide of the war. C'mon EA this is not Quake 4. In everymission U r the only soldier who has to do everything. Your teammates won't even care about u. U R a lone hero.......Total madness.....

Tryed Need for Speed Prostreet, and usually I like those driving/tuner games. But this one after 3 races or so, became so god damn repetative, that I just uninstalled it and permanetly got rid of it. I usually never play bad games, but honestly this has got to be the first...I think that was the first time I thought a video game was terrible. I'm guessing that would mean a lot, and EA should really evaluate their plans for the next NFS before churning them out like bunnies.

Terminator: War of the Machines -

I could list a lot of bad titles, but at this point in time one of the bad ones that stick out in my mind is this one. The game was unbalance, had a memory leak from hell, and graphically just failed.

The game was designed like a battlefield clone, but with the humans getting the most thought, and the most benefit. All of the humans I recal could use every vehicle, and tool on the battleifeld, and each class looked distinctively different, where as Skynet's side was totally trout slapped.

For the future missions one of the classes you get to play is a miniflyer. It cannot fly that high, and it cannot take damage, and it stands out like a sore thumb. The infiltrators (t-800) are useless, even though they look human the glowing eyes give you away, (the only T800 class where the eyes glow) and pretty much give away your position to snipers anywhere on the map, not to include the class carries lighter human weapons, can drive some of the vehicles, but standard movement speed is the same slow pace as a T-800 heavy class.

Playing as a Skynet even though you have the same red-phase optics you do not get the same advantage of hyper zoom, target tracking - meaning if you lock unto someone you cannot scan there general health status, or do most things the T-800 which you primarly play as can do.

The maps themselves where mostly dark, and barren of detail, some of the maps are nothing but corridor fights so the fights are nothing but a couple of chokepoints. The Human's were vastly superior in speed, and weapons were by far vast. Compared to the Skynets offering you could literally run a circle around a Skynet unit a they would be boned.

The singleplayer component was pretty much useless, and the multiplayer netcode along with the nice memory leak in the game really blew goats.

Is there enough reasons why I thought this game was bad?

maybe Counter-Strike? Ha.

well that really interests players, cause it's popular & vulgar. but compared with other games, it's garbage. we know it is just a mod of HL, not a separate game. i prefer to call it a 'dessert game', rather than the dinner.

u mentioned MOHA. hmm... i think it's much better than the former works - the shooter part got more realistic - a bit like BIA series. but something in the game is disappointing.

Im still thinking:

Double Agent perhaps? I haven't actually played the game but the fact that it wouldn't acknowledge a dx10 card, said that my new computer was below its system requirements, and then just crashed when it got to the Ubisoft logo, makes it the worst game i have tried to play.

The original BattleCruiser AD by Derek Smart was totally unplayable, I mean that literally. The game wasnt bugged, it wasn't even finished. It didnt make to RC status they just released a very early Beta. Its was akin to selling a car before the engine, wheels and driving wheel were installed.

The game would crash to DOS the moment you started the 1st mission. It went back to the store the very next day.

I don't play many bad games. I like to think that, at the very least, I know what I like.

I have to say Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. The first game in the new PoP series was an absolute pleasure - the fairytale storybook feeling suited the content perfectly and it was all just a ton of fun.

But everything was much darker in the second game - but not in a good way, more in an angry teenager kind of way. All the enemies were wearing leather, they hurled horrible insults (not horrible in the offense sense, horrible in the crappy writing and acting sense) and the music was nasty thrash metal.

It was almost as if they deliberately tried to make the game as unlikale as possible. Played like an angry teenager. I hated it. It's the only game I've ever owned that I actually threw away (deliberately).

I'm sure there are worse games, but I make a point of avoiding bad entertainment as best I can.

empire earth series, especially EE2, (forget about EE3, I deny its existence)

the idea is great, age of empires but from the stone age to the future, for me its the dream RTS, but instead you got the most dull, boring, uninspired game ever. the units have no unique feel to them, you just dont care about them. no strategy, just send as many soldiers as you can and maybe some will stay alive. its possible to kill a tank with enough rock slingers, i mean you need really big arms to throw a stone in such force to do any damage to a tank.

the whole series went from bad to worse IMO

im sure ive played worse then this back in the day, but the worst in recemtn memory would be two worlds. eeeewwww talk about a broken and badly planned out game....this is horrendous.

i can see what they were trying to do and they had some good ideas (like the stacking items to make them better idea...pretty neat imho) and i liked the tech that reduced loading to zero (on PC anyway...dont know about 360). u could go from a house to a forest with no loading. thats the good stuff.

but broken quests, rubbish story, badly balanced game (at the start a pig is a deadly enemy that can kill u quickly), buggy graphics (though they were nice when they worked), laughable voice acting, rubbish journal, pathetic music (the title screen music sounds like something from the eurovision song contest...and not a winning song by any stretch) and a horse riding system that only frustrates.

this is a game that seriously needed to go back to the drawing board for some major fixing. its fundimentally broken in places.

and to think some sources gave this a higher score than the witcher.....makes me feel a bit ill in side i have to say.

forsooth and all that *barf*.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault

I can't elaborate on why I hate it because I only played it 15 minutes...

Graphics were terrible, gameplay was not good, the story looked like crap to me.

I went back to the store and told them my mom found it too violent for me, and they gave me back my money :D

The Quake 3 engine was the engine when it was released, and MoH:AA came out barely a year after Quake 3. The visuals were arguably top class at the time of the game's release.

And if you only played it for fifteen minutes, you can't really have taken stock of the quality of the gameplay.

As for the story looking like crap, firstly it's a first person shooter and almost all FPS stories are bad, secondly it's a WWII game so how deep of a story are you expecting? (hint: we win, the end) And thirdly, it's a first person shooter and almost all FPS stories are bad.

If you dislike it, that's fine by me, even if you just irrationally choose to hate it without reason, but you've given specific reasons and they make no sense.

Well, that's the thing... I didn't buy it when it was released, it was in the 45$ bin.

I consider it the worst game I've played simply because all others are better... Even though I haven't really played it. I am not going to write a thesis on why I hated it becase I only played it 20 minutes and missed the best part of the game, but I had other shooters at the time and liked them a lot better (Giants: Citizen Kabuto, CS, Ghost Recon). I probably hated it because I was not in the mood for such a game at the time.

I have no doubt that some people loved that game, but it was below my expectations at the time.

I might get blasted for saying this, but in 2007 the worst game I played was Assasin's Creed. I expected so much more. The graphics, setting, and atmosphere were excellent, but the gameplay was just so repetetive and unexciting. Missions were boring, combat was generic and the story was poor. When I played it, the best word I can say that describes my feelings while playing it, was 'dry'. I felt dry playing that game, and I wanted to be wet.:(

WoW was fun at the beginning, when everyone just wanted some kind of Diablo experience but better. Unfortunately it becomes very repetitive, as it is easy, boring and I don't care about the story/quests/loot. Loots are important, but when the only thing your friends do is talk about gear, it's pretty annoying...

I went to CS:S after 1000 hours of BF2 and 50 hours of COD:4. I can say that CS:S beats them both. After you've gone past the learning curve, you'll find it fun.

Marc ecko's Getting Up--- It has horrible controls and i found it quite difficult

Neuro Hunter-- bad graphics and very demanding. This game was Physix less: no ragdoll and you can't move any object

Bloodline-- bad graphics, full from A to Z with bugs, bad gameplay. And it was Czech only

Dude, I've played hundreds of terrible games. I'll just talk about the most recent disappointment.

Lord of the Rings Online: it was kind of like wandering around a park looking for a lost dog that isn't even yours. The crafting and missions were sort of like going to work on a Sunday morning... 3 hours after last call. I'm trying to put a bit of humor here because there was absolutely none in the game, but I want you to read this without falling asleep.

I don't know if it's the worst, but it certainly stands out in my mind... Syberia 2. God, I loathe that game!
