I usually buy games in two's.... The last time I did it was Crysis and Call of Duty 4. Should I get Grid and Mass Effect? I play a little CoD4 still but I'm down to about 5 hours a week.... should I just buy one?

Mass Effect is a must-buy masterpeice, and Grid has been looking pretty good aswell, but I have only played the demo (but still was excellent). So yeah I would say it would be a good choice

Yesterday I got Grid + Supreme commander and its expansion (its a was bundle :D)
Im quite happy about both games, Grid looks and play very nice if you like racing game you will probly like that one I only dislike one thing about grid is that sometimes it crashes but I blame vista
I dont know about mass effect it doesnt seems such a good rpg. I usually hate console ports they tend to suck. For me if I get mass effect it will only be if theres some decent mods like oblivion had (we all know the vanilla oblivion sucked).
Am'i the only one who thinks ME sucked?
Kotor 1/2 were absolutely great but ME just felt like that everything that was great in Kotor was now absent. First of all they had crippled the convesation system which was not even nearly as deep as it was in Kotor and no matter which option you pick the main charecter ends up saying the same thing most of the time. Combat was horrible since enemies had basicly the same AI as they had in Kotor only it was not turn based anymore. Your group is useless since they cant do anything right unless you keep giving them commands and not being able to control them like in kotor is stupid. Theres dozens of planets to land on but they are basicly the same. 1/2 artifacts to be found, dead landscape, rarely any enemies and that one building to raid which for some reason looks almost identical on each planet. Your ship is frustrating since you have like 6 crew members but the ship is the size of a skyscraper. Plus what the idea of getting all your crew members in the first 2 hours of gameplay.
Only thing I find actually positive in this game are the graphics.

I miss KOTOR, last time I played it was on my Xbox. Does anyone know if KOTOR is compatible with Vista 64-bit? I think I'll play that first and wait for Mass Effect to hit the bargain bin.

Why GRID for the console? I've only played the demo so far, but the PC version is spectacular.
I think he's concerned about the controls. You can use an Xbox 360 controller with a PC you know.

Weird, I'm using a keyboard and I think the controls are just fine.

While I agree with these, there are still alot of aspects that make ME a great game. Its well worth playing through, even though it does have some minor flaws, it doesnt take away from the game (such as the many, many fundamental flaws of Assassins Creed) but rather is just not the Brilliant game that it could have been.
I haven't played Mass Effect myself but my brother loves it, and he's a fan of Kotor 1/2, I couldn't get into either to be honest.
As for Grid, it is a great game but like someone said before, it is a strange mix of sim and arcade without really sitting straight on either count. Like you can do the 24 hour La Mans but you can't do a qualifier race, and it doesn't have pit stops. No weather effects at all apart from night cycle in the 24 hour La Mans only, can't even choose night time on a normal track. So options are limited, in most cases by too much.
Also, from what I've played, the controls with a controller (I have an Xbox 360 pad) it's very twitchy and takes ages to get used to, but with a racing wheel it's amazing. For me the controls with a wheel make up for nearly all its faults.
So if you have a racing wheel, definitely get Grid, you'll have a blast, if not then I'd just go for Mass Effect and grab the demo of Grid and see how you feel with the controls for now.
Have fun

I AM THE TOPIC CREATOR. I HAVE ALREADY STATED THAT I GOT THE GAME GRID. PLEASE DON'T TELL ME TO BUY GRID ON SOME OTHER SYSTEM WHEN I ALREADY HAVE IT ON MY PC. READ THE POSTS OR LEAVE THE TOPIC PLEASE.
I'm using the keyboard without any issues either, it works just fine IMHO. I would like to try a gamepad however.

Yeah, I agree. Mass Effect has it's flaws, no doubt about that, but it's strengths make it an excellent game nonetheless. If Bioware addresses some of the major issues (they did adress the minor ones in the PC-version), especially the dead planets with mindless missions, copy and paste buildings and the ability to control party-members, ME2 might be the best damn action-RPG ever made.
Not too sure what Pessu meant about the dialog though. It's pretty much the same good/evil/neutral-choices Bioware has in all of their recent games, Kotor included.
Mass Effect is great, but Bioware did mess things up again.Badly placed auto-save, bad interface, bad keyboard mapping (not everything can be linked), bad and imposive tutorial...
My biggest advices are this...
USE THE HUV
To get out of the Mako, press the weapon draw button (Yeah, I tried every buttons to figure that out! Took half an hour)
There is a bug making you unable to speak to the second bridge key members... that sux!
