You guys are swaying me the way I figured I would be swayed. Really like atmospheric games, and cryostasis seem that. Two questions about the game, how is the saving done? I am horrible with saving, and there is nothing worse than an atmospheric PC game that requires you to pull your self out of it constantly to remember to save your game (Stalker). So please say is has a good auto-save cause I hear it crashes. Second, I have a GT260, and a dual core, I should be able to max it, right?WillT12345if you like atmospheric games you are gonna love cryostasis. Is one of my favorite games and imo the best survival horror ( along with penumbra games). The graphics are amazing and you should be able to max it wirh a gtx260. You might notice some fps dips but considering cryostasis is aslow paced fps those dips are not annoying. I'm playing it at 1680x1050 medium-high settings with 8800gt at about 25fps and i'm ok even though is only 25fps
There's a free Zeno Clash demo on Steam.
While it does'nt have the same kind of atmosphere as Cryostasis, it seems to have plenty of it's own unique weirdness. I liked it so much that I'll buy it the second I get my new pc (I'm expecting to wait another two weeks arghh!!).
Anyway, you can just download it and see what you think.
I heard Cryostasis was good, and you guys got me thinking about it even more! :) But I came to put my two cents in for Zeno Clash. I absolutely loved the game. It has its own sense of style and uniqueness, the gameplay is great, and it also has its own, very different, sort of atmosphere about it. There were a few levels that really blew me away. If you're interested, I wrote up my own review and gave it a 10.
Sounds like Cryostasis is your game, but you should strongly consider Zeno Clash later on... it's cheap, too! :D
