Just curious because I almost never buy a single player game. In most cases I have to really like the multiplayer....is it any good?
It's on sale on STEAM for $37.49....

Only played a few matches but it's pretty fun. It's standard stuff though...all your basic MP modes with some small twists. There's COD style unlocks and stuff like that. Honestly though would not recommend Far Cry 3 for it's MP alone. Get it for the SP and consider the MP as a bonus.Renevent42+1 and the SP is absolutley amazing.
It's solid but it doesn't have very many features, there are only 3 or 4 modes: Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Domination, and FireStorm. I wish it had more variety, but the map maker is awesome so I guess that kind of makes up for it.
The co-op is also fun but it's not open world like the single player.
Far Cry 2 is a borefest. FC3 is about even with Borderlands 2, with me giving Borderlands a slight advantage because of co op.hmmm...I have not played Decieved or Borderlands 2 either. Would you guys say that FC2 is better than those?

The multiplayer is subpar and extremely linear. Nothing at all special about it, and the single player while being very good is not spectacular. There are tons of better games. The story is good, and the acting is compelling, but between exploration, taking radio towers and camps, etc it kind of seems convoluted and broken. Sticking with the story though, I did particularly enjoy the acting and the game is beautiful and exploration can at times be fun.. But, you have to keep in mind it is the same franchise, Far Cry.. It plays just like any other Far Cry game that I have played, with a better story somewhere in the mix. If you enjoyed previous Far Cry games, pick it up.. It's definitely the best Far Cry yet, and the acting in the game really is incredible.
Edit: I also wanted to point out that the menu is a total clusterfk, it's clunky, inconvenient and all around annoying. I think the menu could have been far better, especially considering the crafting mechanics.
Borderlands 2 is fantastic...between that and Far Cry 3 I would probably say Borderlands 2. With that said you really can't go wrong between these two games.hmmm...I have not played Decieved or Borderlands 2 either. Would you guys say that FC2 is better than those?

I got it, the single player is really awesome so far. Actually brings me back the feeling I first had when I started up Farcry 1 years ago.

No I do not download games w/o paying EVER. I never have....I mean I don't buy single player games.
That's. not the point. It's people not buying games without multi, this is why devs are wasting time tacking on crappy multiplayer to good single player games.I think people have a right to play multiplayer games only if that's what suits them. Beyond that, what you say is rubbish anyways. Plenty of games still have great SP campaigns even if they have MP added on, even more there are plenty of SP only games.Renevent42Believe it's rubbish if you please, but tacked on multilayer is becoming common, lately.

I agree with C_Rule here. These days if your game doesn't have some sort of MP, gamers bash it and say it's not worth the money even if it's a superb SP Game.
SP only games sell well and review well all the time, so do games with great SP that also have some sort of MP as well...there's really nothing to agree/disagree with.

Dead Space 2, Spec Ops: The Line, Bioshock 2 all come to mind. I could name more lol. Well, those games are awesome to me. But then again, these are games players wouldn't mind not having MP in them.
Bought deluxe edition for £25, played ~1 hour.
Shot a pig in the face and made a wallet.
Game is clearly 10/10 for that alone.
I look forward to trying MP
