Hey.

This is my rig atm:

  • Processor: i7 860 2.8ghz
  • Motherboard: MSI 2451 (I think...)
  • Graphic Card: ATI Radeon 5670 1gb ddr5 775mhz
  • Storage: 1TB Seagate
  • RAM: 6GB DIMM DDR3

I have no idea what most of this means... But from my tests in 3dmark it seems that my graphic card is the one thing that really lacks power. If not, let me know :) So I have been scanning and I dont want to spend more than 300$ on a new card and have found Gigabyte Geforce GTX 560Ti 1GB OC+ to be within that frame and also seems pretty ok from what I have gathered. What does the OC+ mean btw? That its overclocked? Is this card any good? My goal is to be able to play most new games at high graphic settings, maybe not the highest but up there.

Thanks for any help :)

EDIT: What about Geforce GTX 570 btw? Its a little over budget but I can stretch that far if necessary.

First:OC means overclocked as you said and this means upgrading the VGA using softwares mostly(yes there is a manual OC).

About the GTX 560 Ti I have to say it's really good about it's price and you can play most games at mid-high quality with it but if you buy a GTX 570 then you can play the games at high quality(Still not maximum or ultra high quality).

If I was you I would wait to get the enogh budget for GTX 570.

The 570 would be a worth while, and would last you longer.

Okay seems like 570 it is then. Just so I am 100%, its Gigabyte GeForce GTX 570 1280MB PhysX PCI-Express 2.0, "OC Version", GDDR5, 2xDVI, HDMI, Windforce 3X, 780MHz I want? There seems to be many different names on the 570... I need it for gaming and on 1 monitor.

It can't exactly match a GTX 580, but it can get pretty damn close.

Remember to check that you have a PSU capable of providing enough juice for the new gtx 570.
