I am thinking of getting into PC gaming and havefound agerman site with good prices. I have assembled some components and I am wondering what you guys think. I am trying for the best with the money I have and this set up is under 600 euro. I have omitted a monitor as I will be using it on my TV anyway and will get a better monitor down the line. I also have a Disc drive so its not included here either. Let me know what you guys think.

MSI 770-C45,AM3 Mobo

few thinks spend an extra $20-30 and get an AM3+ motherboard which will be compatible with the upcoming AMD cpu's instead of an AM3 one other than that looks quite decent Pc. You can also spend $20-40 more and get a better vga like the 6850 ( 5830 is by all means quite fast but the extra $20-30 will get you something faster )

Unbranded/generic PSU are best avoided, they have a tendancy to blow up. Get a 500W corsair one. For a budget build very nice otherwise.

Stupid quotings not working

That attitude quickly becomes very expensive. Somethings always slightly better. AM3+ boards are the premium models with £120+ price tags not just £30 more.

actually supweflower are decent power supplys (they are known here in europe but i dont think they are known in north america) i have one that is working great for 3years now . Its also 80 plus certified and has more than enough amps on its 12V lines for even a gtx570

I hear what you're saying but the thing is im selling my 5.1 surround system and my PS3 to hopefully acquire the money for this rig so unfortunately I can't spend the extra little bit on better components here and there. I know its not the best in the world but it seemed like a pretty good start for me. Thanks for the feedback though, all advice is good advice

limting yourself to a platform that wont be upgradeable to save 20-30 pounds not wise. Amazon has AM3+ mobos from 80pounds that are compatible with AM3+ specifically look for Asrock 880G PRO3 AM3+ that costs 84pounds

in that case then stay with the 5830 is by all means still a fast card but i still advice to go with an AM3+ mobo if possible

Looks great. I would definetly try to go with the HD 6850.

Welcome to PC gaming!

And BTW, get Steam.

As Others have stated, go ahead and get a AM3+ mobo. I would say you would regret not spending the extra 20-30 -dollars getting it. That will give you upgrade options years down the line and major improvement in performance.

Asrock 880G AM3+ mobo 99.99

At this point of time, both cards are Meh to say the least. Lets go about it another way. How much are you willing to spend on a video card.

Basically about the price of these which the 5830 is 102 euro and the 450 is 101 euro. So about that price range

Stick with the 5830. At that price is a good deal and is much faster than the gts 450

I agree its an awesome build especially for a beginner but I have been looking again and which out of these 3 cards is the best?

http://www4.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=38243&agid=707

http://www4.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=38242&agid=707

http://www4.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=38241&agid=707

Which is better the External exhaust models or the traditional type?

After some research I have found that EE models are far louder and don't produce better cooling effects unless in SLI, then the EE models are good.

The 5830 is faster, but I would choose the Nvidia over the AMD card because Nvidia cards tend to have less issues with games anddrivers

anyone who says that is not worth listening to. AMD drivers are great, and tend to be problomatic for some people for some reason, and are also way over exaggerated by nvidia fanboys. My system is an intel 2500k cpu with an amd 4770 graphics card, asrock motherboard, acer monitor, corsair ram, cooler master power supply and a generic keyboard and mouse. My amd 4770 works fine with all my components 100% fine. Also AMD has the second largest market share in the gfx card industry behind intel but ahead of nvidia. Alot more ppl would be complaining if their drivers sukd so badly,, however most of the time, the complaints seem to be coming from ppl with some sort of nvidia card in their sig...such as 04cadarrer here. With that being said the 5830 is an excellent card, it wipes the floor with the 450 gts, go ahead and buy it.

AMD drivers are so great  ....their ok. Their are plenty of people here that switched over from AMD/ATI cards to Nvidia because they didnt want the hassle or were having issues because of the drivers... Anyone who says AMD drivers are equal or better then Nvidia's are not worth listening to ethier....

hah, ur acting like nvidia doesn't have its share of driver problems. Most recent one..less than a month ago the 590 BLOWING UP, yah thats right it blew up, a $700 card in your face. Check out the video below for the spectacle. So much for nvidia drivers being so great...at least AMD cards have NEVER done that.

Its neck and neck at stock with a good overclock its abit faster
