I know, I know, I know... this has been asked a million times so I apologize in advance. If I liked Gears of War and Dark Sector (Dark Sector was wicked fun) on the PC, can you folks recommend some other titles that'll satisy this need? I also loved Dead Space and Dead Space 2, although they were slightly less fast paced and action orientated.

Wanted has a better cover system than both (faster, more fluid, more responsive) and you can curve bullets.

Kane and Lynch 2 is a very beautiful and ultraviolent game. You kill more dudes in about four hours than in the entire Gears of War.

I'm not a big fan of the genre (I seem to say that a lot) but I kind of thought Warhammer 40k: Space Marine was mindless fun.

Thanks for the recommendations, I've seen tons of those games for sale at various retail locations for $10 and less.

Thanks man, I should've stated I really wanted some ultraviolence. Kane and Lynch 2 looks like it'll fit the bill.

Those games looks great, thanks for the heads up. Looks like complex gameplay and a need for a controller.

as an owner of drksiders i actually prefer it on keyboard + mouse. this is mainly because the game is bugged when you use a controller.

APB is actually pretty simple. its controls are no different than GTA or saints row and hydrophobia is splinter cell with swimming and aqua powers

I would recommend Resident Evil 5. You just need to be patient with it at first (the controls are frustrating) but once you adjust to them the game becomes quite fun (and looks great).

So I was walking around a retail store tonight and I browsed the PC games section for fun, and I remembered this post when I saw the last copy of Kane and Lynch 2 selling for $5. Cheers for the advice. I installed it and will give it a spin soon. Wanted looks good but that's definitely an Amazon or direct-download title. I saw the first Kane and Lynch at another retail store selling for $10 or $15, but I didn't pick it up.

Is Manhunt or Manhunt 2 still available for purchase? On Amazon.com the lowest price for a new copy of Manhunt for the PC is like $90. What in the world?

Too bad, the reviews seem alright as do the gameplay videos, I saw a few minutes of the game on YouTube awhile back. By the way, I bought Splinter Cell, SC - Chaos Theory, and SC - Pandora's Box all for $15 retail. I saw it in some budget game area. Although FPS, I kinda wanted to buy Call of Juarez Bound in Blood and Frontline Fuel of War, both were selling for $10 retail, I think.

I know somebody else already mentioned this, but I want to emphasize on Saints Row: The Third. That game is wicked fun. Definitely worth to check out.

If you can, get Manhunt 2 from Gamers Gate, it's the uncensored AO version and currently the only place where you can get it. All other versions have this annoying filter during the executions that kinda ruin the experience.

I won't say armageddon is a bad game. It's a regression for the series after gOrilla was relatively smart and freeform. Armageddon is more or less a bug hunt with some ok weapons, some ok powers. It's not going to rock your world. Cheap? Yeah it's not a bad pickup for a TPS fan.

If I had to name an "okay" game. This would be it. It's okay on so many levels. The price isn't what is important or not important.. it's the time you will spend on it. Is it worth your time? I would say it wasn't worth my time and the $15 I spent on it wasn't as regretful, sadly. Red Faction Guerilla is better.

I spent around 40 hours just on infestation mode on RF4:A although it's just a coincidence that I'm into survival games as well as games like RF3:G and JC2, RF4:A feels less like a sequel and more like a loosely related tech demo made on the next iteration of the Geomod game engine although it's definitely the game that impressed me the most in 2011 by far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgtyDNKkmUg&hd=1 Although I would have much preferred having v2 of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcUBI-YVRY8&hd=1
