actually i'm getting a whole new computer.SiKyungYou should wait for the ATi 5850 to come out cause it will blow the 285 gtx right out of the water. also I can build the computer for you if you'd like.
If you are a high school student or college undergraduate student, there is a deal if you get MSDN-AA access, you can get 4x windows 7 pro retail keys and 8x vista retail keys with a 1 year subscription for only $19. The keys are retail and last forever.doesn't the cost really come from the tech support that comes with it rather than the cost of part, plus if he builds it himself he still has to pay hundreds for software like windows vista and office.
stangen
And in terms of word processing, I got my Microsoft Office 2007 for free through a blunder microsoft made in which I was able to get a free year technet subscription. They canceled my subscription, but I still got to keep all of the keys I had downloaded.
I doubt something like that will happen again. You can always use the open-source counterpart Open Office, and it performs almost all the functions Microsoft Office does and mimics Microsoft Office's interface very well.
well since it's a whole computer i'm going to buy... But i could order to change the part.[QUOTE="Lyron-Baktos"]
For that price, it should be an i7/x58

Don't buy from Dell you always end up paying way to much, even if you don't want to build it yourself there are other places you can order a PC from which will be better and cheaper than what you get from Dell.
Just shop around a little 1st. Couple places I can think of off the top of my head to check out are Digital storm, Falcon northwest, Cyberpower PC (heard good and bad things cyberpower but they seem to have good prices). Think a few places are having labor day sales atm.
so what kind company would you recommand? Because up to now, i was using DELL.SiKyungUnfortunately you may not find the answer you wish in these forums. I have little to no knowledge of companies that assemble computers in terms of actual quality and what parts they use.
If you know someone locally that knows how to assemble computer, I would highly recommend finding that person and have him assemble it. I would suggest buying the components yourself, get some feedback off the forums in what to pick.
If you do not want to go that route, then I saw some pretty decent pre-builts for a ok price on www.newegg.com, that's probably a decent place to start.

Cyberpower doesn't have the best of reviews and ratings. When I was shopping around I considered them but after reading all the horror stories and seeing that 25% of their customers have serious defects or problems like cheaper parts then they ordered I was like hell no.[QUOTE="SiKyung"] well since it's a whole computer i'm going to buy... Ah, I remember being in that position once. The primary concern was "What if it doesn't work out?" . My parents were really edgy on putting a lot of money on something without a easy way to return items. I still decided to go through with it, and it worked perfectly fine (Everything wasn't quite perfect, but that is a different story). After that my parents became more confident in me custom building computers (built a couple friends and my brother's) and I have never had any issues.[QUOTE="UltimateGamer95"][QUOTE="SiKyung"]so what kind company would you recommand? ok... i went looking a bit in newegg and found a computer that came to my eye. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227146 This is the best i could find if my knowledge is correct :pSiKyungThis one would be cheaper, and it would perform at a very similar level in games. The one you picked would have a slight edge, but it would be close.
[QUOTE="Luminouslight"]This one would be cheaper, and it would perform at a very similar level in games. The one you picked would have a slight edge, but it would be close. hm so to compare both... AMD Phenom II X4 955(3.2GHz) vs Intel Core i7 920(2.66GHz) - Not enough knowledge for this one :p Help please 8GB (4x2GB) DDR3 1333 vs 6GB DDR3 1333 - Well more memories, the better i'm thinking 1TB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 7200RPM HDD vs 1TB SATAII - pretty much similar? ATI Radeon HD4890 1GB PCI Express Video Card vs NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 1GB Video Card - The biggest wall to me :p Help again please 700W vs 800W - Since it's over 500 W so both are fine i guess. Comparing the Phenom II 955 to the i7 920 shows the i7 has a couple frame margin of improvement on average. While between the HD 4890 and GTX 285, again the GTX 285 is about several frames faster on average. Everything else will have a more negiligible effect on performance.[QUOTE="SiKyung"]ok... i went looking a bit in newegg and found a computer that came to my eye. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227146 This is the best i could find if my knowledge is correct :pSiKyung

Also You would only pay the prices on the Newegg USA site which are so so much cheaper. I'd hate to see you go with a prebuilt. Haha you are really great and helpful person :p But to tell you truth... my family don't feeling easy to requesting other people over internet. No offense but sometime people over internet can be scary. Thanks for offer although. I really appreciate it. Ok I understand. I hope to get a track record going and then maybe you can consider me for you next pc.
Nothing wrong with getting a Dell or an HP. They make good stuff. Their warranty usually start at 3 years. I rather trust them than some small shop.
As for putting a computer together it sounds much more daunting then it really is. Anyone can put a computer together. It's quite simple and the parts today are pretty much idiot proof. All of the cables only fit in one way. So as long as you take your time and read the manuals that come with the parts you will be fine. You will also be able to choose every piece you want and can save a little money.
