Shooting mechanics are really solid this time around and shields don't block (some) powers anymore, medigel is also back. I'm really curious on the history for this one mainly because of the changes on Cerberus.

I've only tried Soldier, but what are your thoughts guys?

P.S: impossible to check the rpg'ing since there's no save import.

Loved it, will play it multiple times to try the different classes. Used my usual infiltrator the first run, loved it. Very solid combat this time, and the visual upgrades are very nice. What I loved most was the gun sounds....I hear DICE helped with those, they have a lot more bass to them

The game demo is broken for Surround/Eyefinity. The menus are all zoomed in and stuff. Ugh, it seems fine in-game though. The demo's graphics are poop, hopefully higher rez textures are in the full game.

There are more RPG elements, there are skill ''trees'' (only two ways you can go though) and you can tune your weapons although I haven't got the chance to try that out because it's not in the demo.

Multiplayer is surprisingly terrible, I expected it to be bad, but what they give in the demo is just terrible, half of the sp is also terrible (they weren't joking when they said they'll make this game in a way that even somebody new to the game understands what's happening, because of that, somebody that expected a sequel to ME 2 doesn't understand a thing, since they're not related, except for the motive, killing Reapers), pacing, new changes are pretty bad, I don't remember having so many actions tied to one key before (space), voice acting was abysmal (except for Keith) but that is because of "new players need to get it", the tone of the characters didn't match what was going on and they were without any emotions (except Keith), the cutscenes when they left Earth, that was great and the other half when you go after that Krogan female was decent (as good as side quest in ME 2), the gameplay and shooting are a little better, but the ammo just kills the entire game, it's everywhere, it looks much better, they added a lot of details, but you can't see almost anything because of all the ammo that jumps in your face. I can't help comparing it to Saints Row 3 since I recently finished it and I'm still enjoying various missions, however, the last mission on "Mars" was made as a terrible, cheap action like movie on purpose, ME 3 doesn't do it on purpose, but it's on the same level as SR 3 on that mission (on Earth at least). I wasn't excited for ME 3 before, after the demo, I'm less than underwhelmed.

It's pretty awesome ( as I knew it would be :P ) and so far I've played three classes: Vanguard, Sentinel and Soldier.

I have to say I enjoyed Soldier the most, the combat mechanics are improved over ME 2 and that makes shooting a lot more enjoyable. :)

Now all I have to do is ait for my Limited N7 Edition to arrive.Less than a month away, but it seems like eternity. :?

I wouldn't get your hopes up. ME 2 had very inconsistent textures, worse than ME 1 in fact.

Is there music in the demo? thats a big part of what made ME 1 better than 2 - the music was far more epic.

I'll try it later this evening when I get home.

Music was the only great thing about it, music was the reason why the cutscenes, when they left Earth, were great.

^^ how would you say it compared to ME 2's music? I thought the second games ambient music was dull and forgettable, while in ME 1 it really improved the atmosphere.

This may seem trivial, but to me its important

I think that the music in the demo was better than ME 2's soundtrack. It definetelly added to the experience.

Never been a fan of demos for rpgs, but this was not to bad.

Just as long as the story is good Ill be happy.

Singleplayer was fun in the demo, teh multiplayer not so much.

Looking forward to March 6th.

Didn't seem like it was "zoomed in", looked more like terrible camera placement, but that's the least of its problems.

Pretty dissapointing. The UI and animations sucked, the graphics were a downgrade from ME2, and mapping even more actions to the space bar is evil.

That bieng said, the level design, RPG elements, and enemy AI were sweet.

as long as this isn't the final product, ME3 should live up to the hype.

The single player was pretty solid..

The textures were sometimes pretty horrid thought and the multiplayer left me quite dissapointed.

I thought it was gonna be real missions and not an other ¢¬¤¢¬¦¤ horde mode clone.

Demo was alright, not bad but not great either.

My biggest problem is that the controls feel off. It feels like you are wooshing around behind a disembodied torso floating 3 feet off the ground. It controls like a FPS but with a person in the way of the camera. The animations in going over small ledges and the like in the opening level were really terrible. In fact, the entire opening level felt a bit rough.

It did take place in the city where I live, which was rather distracting. Looks like Canada Place still exists in the future, and GM place is in for another major roof renovation. The mountains are also going to change drastically if this game is anything to go by.

The gunplay felt good, the game runs super smooth and looks pretty good, but the music was bleh. It wasn't bad, but it didn't fit with the game, its probably on par with ME 2's music which was pretty mediocre.

You can't really comment on the RPG elements and depth just from playing the demo, but it certaintly didn't feel epic like ME 1 did. It felt like ME 2 in most ways which is a dissapointment, especially after Lair of the Shadow Broker which was amazing.

Absolutely loved it, the animations were a little weird but other then that it looked and played great exactly how I was hoping it would. The controls were responsive and the additions of the rolls and the cover to cover bounding is exactly what was needed to make the combat flow much better.

I'm seriously baffled that people think that ME2 looks better then this, there is no way in hell that it looks better imo. The amount of detail put into the opening scene blew my mind to be honest, the scale of the reapers in the background and how they moved across the city as you progressed was phenomenal.

Only thing that I saw as an upgrade from ME2 was the combat, other than that I thought the animations especially and graphics were a joke.. Shepards clothes are blurry and it's completely distracting. Also looking at the city background it just looks terrible, I mean look at the people running down below or the debris from the exploding ship, or even the water.. hoping it looks a hell of a lot better in the final game

Oh, kinda wish there was a seperate key to activate rolls and the bunch, kind of annoying when you meant to just jump off a ledge or side strafe and he does a front flip off or rolls to the side

Watch this video, will make you lol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyYI8N8JSjk&feature=player_embedded

The writing in the demo was terrible, as were the textures. Not only are the NPC clothes extremely low res, but so are a lot of the world textures. It's really distracting and ruins the look of the game IMO. The gameplay is the same as it was in ME2 which isn't a bad thing, although I'm disappointed the controls haven't been changed such that one button controls sprinting, covering, AND world interaction.

At first I felt the same way. It just kinda felt off somehow. The more I kept playing the more I started liking it. It's faster paced now, that's why it felt a little off.

I do, however, disagree with "crap demo"; I thought the demo was fantastic and made ME fan (like me) felt right at home (RPG mode obviously). Graphics do feel a little downgraded but I felt the mass scale of the levels went up as well (console limitation) so it's not a biggie for me. Lighting effects seem really good this time around and the music was very good.

With that being said here are things 2 things I want to improved, they're not biggies:

1. I'm planning to buy this for the 360 and the PC (Yes, I do have ME1/ME2 on PC and 360) so I want a graphic upgrade for the PC version.

2. I was sorely dissapointed in F Shephards face. She just didn't have the detail on her skin as M Shephard did. Fix her face!

I liked it a lot. First, I wasn't too thrilled about the new camera position of the character. Obviously, they are going for the RE4/5 angle. Throw in a cover system and it works. It's way more of an action game now than ever and that's not necessarily a bad thing. There are some nice new touches like the way Shepard opens doors, melee is cool although I wish there was more than one animation. Graphics are about the same as Mass Effect 2 but I think there are some art style changes here and there. Like Liara looks different. Especially her color. But still recognizable. Now, I just hope it's at least a 20 hour game. I want it to end with a bang.

Seemed short to me compared to the time you got in Amalur's demo. Really liked the fact that even as a Vanguard, I could use an assault rifle, couldn't do that in the others.

I personally thought the demo was great, and I can't wait to get my Collector's Edition. The only thing that bothers me is the running animations, for Shepard and squadmates. They're too floaty.

I'm also curious to know how old the demo build is. The full game will have a "Helmets always off" option which wasn't present in the options menu in the demo. It doesn't make any difference in the demo itself but that doesn't stop me from wondering.
