I'm ashamed to say I never played the original Fallout...or Fallout 2 for that matter. Needless to say, Obsidian now has two RPG legends on staff with Avelone and now Tim Cain. I'm wondering if Bethesda will let Obsidian make more Fallouts. *crosses fingers*

Bethesda and Obsidian seem to make a good team, much like Bioware and Black Isle back in the day. Let's just hope they stay financially stable, New Vegas sold very well for them, so they should be okay for now. After Alpha Protocol though, I was getting worried.

Heres to hoping they will actually polish and test their games before they release, every Obsidian game since KOTOR2 has been plagued with serious bugs and cut corners.

Fantastic news! The biggest name behind Fallout will make a great addition to Obsidian.

So Obsidian is more or less very close to Black Isle Studios. Not a complaint from me. For the love of god release another isometric RPG Obsidian! Stuff like Dungeon Siege 3 really disappoints me when the studio is obviously much more capable of much more (Mask of the Betrayer).

Very true. Although the Wheel of Time game that came out years ago was great....it's time for a new one...

All Obsidian needs is a better production cycle with a strong established QA team, and I can see something amazing being produced.

I read on rpgcodex that they are rumored pitching a sequel to Arcanum in a Temple of Elemental Evil like engine. If Obsidian could pull this off it would be amazing, but it sounds too good to be true. An isometric hard core rpg might not have the marke appeal publishers are looking for these days.

If this happens I'll buy 3 copies just to support the idea.

I imagine they would use their new Onyx engine that was used for DS III. It ran and looked fantastic in that game.

If thats the case i just hope they will let Bethesda do the programming... We've had enough bad experiences with Obsidians programmers

Bethesda games are still very buggy at launch. Maybe not as much as Obsidian games but still very buggy. When Morrowind, Oblivion, and Fallout 3 were first released, crashes were pretty common until a lot of patches came out. Some of the bugs were even game breaking (one of the Oblivion bugs could corrupt game saves).

Nice to hear Obsidian is workong WHEEL OF TIME game to! Loved those books.

kozzy1234

The sad thing is that the quality of the book doesn't usually transfer to the quality of the game. Look at the recent song of Ice and Fire game.

The game of thrones game was made by a horrible dev team that has never made a decent game... Obsidian on the other hand make fantastic rpgs imo.

That still hurts though the game of thrones game.. i mean with such an awesome book and tv show why not get a good dev to make the games? Hopefully the rpg turns out better, but I hear its hte same dev working on that one to :(

Can we pass the Game Of Thrones license to Projekt Red or Obsidian ? :P

This is good news, but wake me up when we get a turn based game with a somewhat complex system.

Obsidian games have bugs, but Bethesda games are absolutely terrible at launch and even till the end.
