Timeshift: Should I get It?

I'm in need of a new FPS and Timeshift got mixed reviews.

Should I get it?
Or are there any other good single player FPSes I should get?

I have the Orange Box, Crysis, Bioshock, Unreal Tournament 3 (mainly multiplayer but the bots are rather good after patch 1.2). I don't like Stalker, so please don't recommend that :D

For the love of god dont get that game. It's been 6 months and I"m still kicking myself for wasting money on the POS game. It has lack luster graphics, poor in game music but worst of all it has no plot direction, or plot. Seriously for most of the game I was just thinking "why the hell am I doing this for". Timeshift is not worth it, now if you want a quality game that has excellent plot, graphics and music that sets the atmosphere you should get mass effect. filmography

mass effect is an RPG and time shift is an FPS.

For an FPS, Timeshift does a great job. It takes all the good things from HL, Quake and Halo, mixes them with a great time mechanic, and the result is a kickass old-school shooter.

Also, how can someone say the graphics are bad? It has semi-destructible environments and textures better than UE3 games...

I found it very bland, it is the only FPS I have not played from beginning to end because it was so boring!

It is hard to tell what is going on in this game, they seem to just throw you from place to place and rely on swarms of eagle eyed troops to keep you busy.

Let's put it this way, GameSpot scored it 6.5 (Fair) on all systems, it is just not very creative.

But it's not good either, if you have played enough shooters this game defines generic.

After playing the demo I have to say I'm quite impressed. I may pick it up on the cheap.

It is really generic which isn't very good. And it reminds me a lot of Red Faction 2, which was a terrible game (I don't care how good red faction was, 2 sucked.) But it's a lot more fun that Red Faction and I like the weapons and stuff.

Since I can get it for pretty cheap (liek a fiver) i'll get it unless someone can recommend something better.

I wouldn't and didn't pay full price for it when it was first released but now thats its only 20$ I think its a good buy.

IMO, it was one of those games that got lost in last falls amazing lineup of PC games being released. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't exceptional but for 20$ and in this drought of new PC games for the next few months, I would say go for it.

Nah I've played CoD4 and I was majorly disappointed by it. It is a terribley overrated game =/

You should be able to get a used copy really cheap of amazon.com, so that way even if you hate the game you won't kick yourself for spending a lot of money on it.

If by "kicks" you mean "sucks", then yes I agree. TS is just plain awful in every way. Just about any FPS you could find would be better.

It's definately worth playing, although don't expect it to be the greatest game you have ever played.

Like other people have said the story is pretty poor, but the actual gameplay is decent. Weapons are fun to fire and the action is pretty fast paced.
