I have recently made the switch to PC and needless to say I suck at it. I have gotten a lot more in control of a mouse and keyboard since starting but when playing bfbc2 I get killed a LOT. On console I was pretty good at it and could get best player a lot. But now I only get about 10 kills per game. SO I was wondering if anyone had any tips for adjusting to it and stuff like that?

just practice your synchronization with the mouse and keyboard. Play alone and shoot walls, practice with different guns, test the recoil. Console is ezmoade.

Yea. Keep practicing/playing regularly, consciously try to aim for the head every encounter. There's really no trick to it, it just comes from practice.

Practice and patience young paddawan!

Also make sure you have a keyboard and mouse you're comfortable with. I have a Logitech Wave keyboard because I love the ergonomic touch, and a Logitech MX1100 because I have more of a high/claw grip that normal mouses don't have. Not to mention its extremely comfy.

use a controller if u want, I find shooters, driving games and some hack-n-slash games just play better with a controller then with the mouse/keyboard.

Even I suck at BC2.:P Just keep playing though, it will come with practice. I've only been PC gaming a year and now my 360 controller feels alien.

I got BC2 during the Steam sale and am almost level 10, have spent about 20 hours on it, and still suck. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll adjust. It's just a very difficult game to get used to because the learning curve is quite high :)

Also, go HERE. There are some good tweaks that really help; I recommend the hit detection fix, the draw-in tweak, and the FOV (turn it from 55 to 75; that equates to turning it to a good 90 degrees which is very natural-looking and gives you a better view).

like someone posted above, many games support game controllors so you can have the feel of them if you are used to them, also setting the mouse speed in games a little lower will help with turning issues and focus problems. hope it helps. all it takes is some practice and you will get use to it, you will love it.

You're welcome. Also, when I said the hit detection fix I meant the disabling sound input fix for windows 7, not the LatencyCompensation one (that is a placebo). And by draw-in I meant the 'renderaheadlimit' fix. :P I typed that kind of quickly, sorry for any confusion.

Get an optical mouse, as they tend to have lower latency than a lot of laser mice. Also, experiment a bit with mouse sensitivity - there is no way that one default sensitivity suits every gamer and hardware.

I bought a new mous today that ranges from 400 - 3200 DPI and it has already made a dramatic impact. Switiching dpi settings on the fly and no more stuttering. 1600 seems to be perfect for me but im sure it will change the more I play. But I underestimated the importance of a mouse.

Play Quake Live in single player for a week that will get used to the mouse and keyboard.

Dont listen to those people telling you to use a controller, you will get slaughtered forever in a PC FPS with a controller, no matter how good you are.
