Am I the only one who does not like to demo games? I know there are people who are too lazy to demo, but I just don't like to demo them. It takes the fun out of them for me. I normaly get interested in a game from news on game sites, and then follow its release and read reviews. When you read enough reviews of one game you can figure out if its a good game or not (not whether you will like it, but whether it was done well). And I get so excited when I have a new unopened game in my hands and I'm reading the manual, and watching the opening cut scene etc. The demos kinda ruin that for me. what about you all?

For PC games, I MUST demo the game, because once you get it, you can't return it. I need to know if I'll play this or if I'll waste my money. It's like a neccessary evil.

Absolutely not. Recent Demos such as COD4 and The Witcher have sparked my interest into buying them.

I don't usually play RPG's, so I would never have had Witcher on my "To buy" list if it weren't for the demo. I saved myself from spending $50 on Crysis, because my system can't run it decently.

Demos are G O D !

I wasn't planning on getting the Witcher... and now, after trying the demo, it is the #1 game on my "to-get" list.

I love demos... especially good ones that pull you into the game and make you want to see it through to the end. I don't think I have ever purchased a game without playing the demo of it first (at least on PC).

I don't see how playing the demo could take the fun out of the game.. It's to test to see if the game is FUN sure you play the first mission, or third but it doesn't matter because either way you're going to play it when you get it. If you don't mind wasting $60 on a game then don't try demos.

I know what your saying, but I can tell if i'm gonna like a game by the reviews, and what everyone on this, and other sites has to say about it. I'm not into throwing money away.

I always do play game demo's before buying the game, but i do know what you mean.. i hate it cause i play the demo several times through then get the full game and usually (not always) the first mission of the game is the same level as in the demo.

Like someone said previously, COD4 demo made me buy it. I played the demo probably 5-6 times until I took the financial leap
