Did we expect anything less from EA. I knew they'd screw up the F2P model.

Awful model now that more details are out. Nice that they let you play all the stories for free, but geez...that's a crap model. Should do it like LotrO instead. There's nothing to buy with the coins I've earned from my time with the game besides useless sh!t.
Sorry but you guys sound spoiled, the best part of the game (the storyline) is entirely free, and you still complain?
Publishers want to make money you know, the mere fact that you can experience the games brainchild without paying a cent is entirely fair for a business that wants to make money.
It's too bad the entire game aint free eh?

not spoiled, just a sh!tty model when so many other F2P mmos and other gametypes do a better job

Glass is still right though. The best part of the game is FREE and everyone still complains.Sorry but you guys sound spoiled, the best part of the game (the storyline) is entirely free, and you still complain?

The storyline is free but getting far enough to experience the later parts of the story will most likely not be free.

Glass is still right though. The best part of the game is FREE and everyone still complains. If you just play the story, then you are simply playing a repetitve and simple RPG. The game needs the content varity to keep things fresh. I also would consider flashpoints to be story content. It might not be the characters personal story, but it does involve the universe as a whole.

That's what I meant. I didn't just ONLY do the main story, that came in between my Flashpoints, Operations and Space Battles.Considering all I want is to see the storylines, and don't give a crap about anything else, this model isn't that bad for me. Someone brought up LOTRO's model. Well in LOTRO, you have to pay to unlock the zones. Here, the zones are free.
Now granted, I will be subbing to the game for a month to get credit for my CE, and I will be making a small coin purchase to be able to sprint and have a bank. But to me, the only reason worth playing the game is free. SWTOR has weak raiding and PvP, so I couldn't care less about that.
It acts more like a demo than a free model.Wait until the people bowing and kissing EA's feet figure out how much it sucks to not have sprint in this game, which you have to BUY now. Limited quick travel too? rofl. Wow. I can see limiting the game, but this is ridiculous.

if it were up to EA we would be paying by hours to play our games and some people here still would defend them, but but they need to make teh moneyz!
Actually this is ok for me, the only reason I wanted to play the game was for the story missions. I coudn't give a crap about all the MP stuff. I am one of those that wanted KOTOR 3 and not an MMO. But for free I will go ahead and enjoy the story bits.
Most things aren't explained properly.
Is the warzone/flashpoint cap per character or per account?
Do you get sprint at later levels or don't get it at all?
What Limited Character Creation options? Which races? How many characters slots?
Since the official forums are locked for non subscribers I can't ask (not that they'll respond).

probably per account and probably no sprint at all. It's EA, think of the worst they could do, and go two steps further
Wow, no sprint ability, only 5 revives, can't equip purple items...? This will create a sub-community of players, a two-tiered community. How can anyone ever think that this model was a good idea? Sure, there will be an influx of new (curious) players at first who were waiting for the F2P model so that they could try out the game, or maybe people who want to play on a very limited basis. But this model comes across as a glass ceiling for the F2P community, and I anticipate F2P status becoming a stigma.
Guild: Where's so-and-so?
Guy: omw, I'm F2P, so I can't sprint...
or maybe this...
Raid guild recruiting new members! Lv50 only!
Guy: Hi! lv50, interested.
Guild: Are you F2P?
Guy: Yeah...
Guild: so you can't equip purple items, and you can't participate in Warzones or flashponts nightly. Also no sprint. Sooo.....
This isn't true F2P. This is a free-trial system that is designed to dangle a carrot infront of your face. Typical EA.
I was thinking about trying it back out again at some point, but this model has some stupid things.
Only one crew skill, limited pvp, can't equip purple lvl items until you buy some bs. And I bet the sound is STILL broken.
I think I will just hold off quite a bit longer, and see if they change this crap. With this^ it seems like it isn't worth the space it would take up on my pc.
TOR is pretty fun when you're just playing through you're class story. It really captures that Star Wars atmosphere.
However EA is run by jews so this model is only to be expected.

THIS IS HOW I FEEL ABOUT GW2...TO EACH HIS OWN I GUESS. SORRY FOR CAPS.
Exactly, to each their own....saving this for your next gw2 thread.lol....knock yourself out man. I never just mindlessly bash the game...I always give an honest opinion and reasons for it.
I hope that ToR fails and helps convince the big companies that F2P shouldn't be about restrictions, but about giving those who want to pay cosmetic upgrades or extra gadgets. I hate renting things, even with in game money.

All I said was I felt the same way about GW2...I did not go into a bash rant at all.
