The Witcher is a more real RPG experience, while Torchlight is more of an action RPG in the vein of Diablo games and Titan Quest. They are really 2 different games and it would depend if you are looking for more action (Torchlight) or deep RPG with choices, storyling and dialogue (Witcher). I have both, so I am happy :)
well... i'd say get them both if possible, since they aren't exactly expensive now. if i HAD to choose, i'd go for Torchlight. Witcher wasn't very good imo, but Torchlight is a great action rpg that has tons of replay value.
The Witcher, not even a tiny doubt about it! This game rocks in all the aspects. Even though it didn't make my brain explode because of the graphics, the storyline, the characters and the dubbing (at least in Poland) was so improbably mind-blowing I fell in love with that game :) One of the greatest RPG plots I've ever experienced.
Can't really compare the two - both are good values for what they are; But The Witcher is a full on RPG, whereas Torchlight is an RPG-Lite w/ focus on hack'n'slash and loot collection.
