Hi guys, I'm the MD of a new indie game studio called Remode. We are currently developing our first game, Mole Control, which is for PC and is due for release this year. It is a casual 3D puzzle game, based on the classic minesweeper game mechanic. We have just released a trailer on youTube, which you can watch at: We would appreciate any feedback or comments! You can also see the game website at: , and can follow the game on facebook, myspace and twitter from there if you would like to keep up to date. Thanks! Ella
Looks kinda cool, but I can't see why I would buy it when I already own minesweaper. Don't get me wrong I love minesweaper its fun and its quick but I can't see what you have improved upon when compared to the orginal formula. Perhaps I'm missing something.
That said the visuals look slick and I imagine it would be fun to play but I can't see how you going to sell it. That said I wish you luck because it looks like you have put a lot of effort into what looks like a game full of potential but im afraid your gonna need the hype of audiosurf or peggle before I part with my cash.
Thanks for your feedback, and for your compliments about the visuals :) The reason we believe it will sell is that we have fixed some fundamental downfalls of minesweeper (I love minesweeper, but thought it had a lot of potential for improvement). For example, in traditional minesweeper you can die almost immediately before any gameplay and can get completely stuck. In our version, you have three lives and some really cool powerups which means you are not faced with game over every time you face a situation where there is an element of guesswork. We have also spent time writing algorithms and heuristics that improve this a lot. Also, the game has characters, a story and the gameplay builds through the game. The powerups themselves are really fun, and provide an extra level of gameplay. Lastly, as you mentioned we have spent time on graphics and sound, which hopefully will make it a nicer experience to play! I hope you will check out the demo version when it comes out, and let us know your feedback.
